how many of these sales seminars don't preach deceptive and manipulative sales practices/tactics?

I found out about the event through a blog by the "Sales Guru" offering me a discounted rate .... blah blah blah Tsk tsk. You shouldn't fib.
You might have more success by admitting that your company is the one running this event. Then it would also allow others to speak to the value of what Jeffery Gitomer and other speakers have to offer.
As it says just after the title page of The Little Red Book of Selling:
"If they like you, and they believe you, and they trust you, and they have confidence in you... then they MAY buy from you."
But if you start off the sales pitch with deceit, you'll dig yourself a pretty big hole.

If you're in sales I'm sure your tired of hearing the words "Spending Freeze" luckily I came across this conference in Vancouver on November 28th, 2008 called "The Art of Sales" featuring one of my all time favorite authors/presenters Jeffrey Gitomer who is an amazing speaker and will definitely teach you how to sell through any economy. I found out about the event through a blog by the "Sales Guru" offering me a discounted rate of $249 ($150 off the regular rate of $399) when I called in & mentioned "Sales Guru". If you care about your career I would totally recommend attending here are some details...
Waste of money. Personally, for my business, the last two month were the best ones of 2008, in terms of sales. Combine this with low CDN and low fuel cost... So far I only benefit from the so called crisis.

Anyhow as I had mentioned I'm a big fan of Jeffrey's and have read 5 of his 9 books he definitely doesn't preach deceptive or manipulative sales practices/tactics.... Then I'll just assume you learned those on your own. ;)
Here's a tip: If you want to hide your identity on a forum, don't register on that forum with an email address that contains your first and last names!
I would suggest that it's not in your best interest to dig yourself an even deeper hole.

Just wanted to share the deal that I got!!!
The "deal" ($399+tax) that any random visitor to the website can get?
ahaha low-end. Obviously these sales techniques are CRAP if you have to resort to shilling on random forums.
