I wanted to warn West Enders away from this place. I stopped for lunch one day last week and it was one of the worst meals I've ever had.

I ordered chicken noodle soup and the lunch special - "Mediterranean Shrimp".

The soup was greasy and way too salty. I ate a couple of spoonfuls and gave it a pass.

For the special, I was picturing grilled shrimp and vegetables on rice. What I got was a pile of over-cooked, par-boiled rice covered in a gooey, ketchup-based sauce. There were a few shrimp mixed in and bits of melted feta cheese. I took one forkful and spit it out. It was sour and disgusting. The feta cheese made it taste rancid. Feta cheese is not meant to be melted.

I sent it back and ordered a sandwich. I don't think I've sent back a meal in 10 years. The owner came over and expressed his clear annoyance at my sending back the meal. When the waitress brought my sandwich, she nearly threw it at me - basically tossing the dish on the table with a long bang.

I'm guessing this is a breakfast place. I'm sure they can do up a mean bacon and eggs. But anything beyond that - forget it.

Yeah, the Grille is basically a 24-hour greasy spoon;l and at 3 or 4 AM, after a hard night of drinking, it's the perfect spot for some breakfast.

Some restaurants are better at certain things than others. I've been to the Grille for breakfast and enjoyed it. I do prefer the other little place across the street (something jack's).

Agreed with the above, ate there a year ago and it is basically a diner type very greasy spoons type of place. Personally I prefer Wimpy's, atleast there Philly Cheese Steak sandwhich is palatable.

It looked like a greasy spoon but there were quite a few people in it. So I gave it a chance. There are lots of breakfast oriented diners that make great lunch. Zoulpys on King St. is my favourite. Dundas Street Grill is another one. But what they served at The Grill, I wouldn't feed to a dog.

Yup, this place is bloody terrible

I had an experience somewhat like yours -- I went in there by myself at like 3AM one night and asked "what was good"

They said it was a greek place and anything like a souvlaki dinner, etc would be a safe bet

I ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner, and on top of it taking about an hour to arrive, it was just plain awful... Salad was old and wilted, and the rice was really bad too.. If I ever go back it would be for a breakfast item only

This place is terrible..
I ordered a (large) takeout order for work...They accused me of stealing a menu on my way out!!
Why on earth would I steal a menu?
The staff were rude to start and seemed pained to be taking my order.
The food was crap anyway..

Is this the one just east of the 427? I remember when it was one of the last (if not THE last) St. Hubert's outside Quebec. I miss St. Hubert's and hate the "tangy" sauce at Swiss Chalet, but I digress...

Yeah this is the area , except the place that was the last St. Hubert's is across the street

I think it's called "The Q" now or something like that; I've never tried it
