Ottawa Food and Wine Show this weekend

Has anyone here attended this event in the past and if so, can you provide some feedback ?

$17 admission fee is worth it ?

I went last year. Go early or get tickets in advance if you can. I went in the afternoon on a Saturday, and there was like no line. I think we left around 6pm, and the line was around the block.

I don't even really like wine, but they had other stuff there you could try, most of it fairly reasonable. Food there was expensive. Basically, the way it works is you pay for your ticket, you go in, and they give you a wine-glass and I think 2 tickets. You will pretty much have no choice but to buy more. Most samples aren't too expensive, but if you start getting into Mojito's or Bellini's they can add up pretty fast (I think they were like $8 each in tickets).

I had fun, it was a good time, but then again I was with a date, so it was different. Wandering around on your own; probably not so much fun. I wish I hadn't already made plans for this weekend, because I would totally go, but alas, I have. Unless I can find a way out of them, heh.

We just came back from the show and while it was good in terms of the crowd, the wine and the food, I don't think i would go back there again. It's more for the single, younger crowd to socialize. Food was tasty but on the higher side and I am not a wine connoisseur or anything but there was plenty of choices.

I find the cost of admission and sampling tickets fairly high when you add everything up but it was an experience.
