Sounds like US only deal?
NEW YORK (AP) -- The red cups that symbolize the beginning of the holiday season -- and holiday drinks -- at Starbucks Corp. made their debut Tuesday.
The chain also stocked its refrigerated display cases with new lunch sandwiches in a bid to broaden its appeal to those looking for a bite to eat along with their Gingersnap Lattes.
Starbucks said all of its holiday drinks -- the Gingersnap Latte, Peppermint Mocha Twist, Eggnog Latte and new Espresso Chocolate Truffle -- are available nationwide.
The company's Christmas Blend drip coffee will be available after Thanksgiving. A new Thanksgiving Blend drip coffee is now on sale.
The sandwiches, also launched nationwide, include the Prosciutto e Ricotta sandwich, made with a ricotta and parmesan cheese spread and roasted red peppers, a Rosemary Ham & Swiss sandwich and a Goat Cheese and Roasted Mushroom sandwich, made with red pepper puree and a goat cheese spread.
Starbucks has been attempting to pull more customers into its stores in the afternoon. This summer, it offered $2 iced drinks after 2 p.m. to anyone who had a receipt from a morning purchase.
The company said its new Gold Card, which offers members 10 percent off most purchases, also appeared in stores Tuesday. Customers pay $25 to become members and receive the card.

They are all overpriced. So brew your own coffee, cook your own meal, and don't even bother go watch a movie in the cinema.

Starbucks is overpriced.
when comparing some crappy coffee that sell at a food court or mcd, $1 for the 8oz, starbucks isn't that much overpriced when the grande is $1.89 after tax, making it less than $1

I've never tried Starbucks hot chocolate, though I'm not fond of Second Cup's or Timmy's. But how bad could espresso and chocolate be? Sounds like the perfect combo. =D

Tim Horton's HC is made from Baker's Hot Chocolate individual packages anyway, small is like half bag, med is 1 bag and large is 1.5 bag or something

I just bought a cup and it's really not bad at all, though a grande was almost $6. I don't remember espressos costing this much usually?

It was around $5.88 with tax, I think? I paid with my Starbucks card, so don't recall exactly. Still seems a bit more expensive than the usual though, but that impression might just be due to me misremembering. And it sounds like you tried it? I agree that it wasn't very chocolaty and wasn't as rich as I expected it to be.

I tried the hot chocolate many times from SB. For some reasons I forgot that I hate it after a while and keep buying it whenever I crave for one. Don't know how much more I need to spend to learn my lesson. >:( I agree that it doesn't taste very chocolatety so that's why I'm not sure about whether or not you could taste anything for the Espresso Chocolate Truffle
EDIT: O wait...do you mean you tried the hot chocolate or the espersso chocolate truffle?

Oh, I was talking about the espresso truffle! Seems like we misunderstood each other. They don't officially start offering it until next week, but the folks at my local Starbucks said they could still make it for me. Maybe I'll try their hot chocolate tomorrow to compare the two. :)

I'm sure they could add some extra shots of chocolate, though whether or not they'd charge for it, I'm not certain. Maybe if you had a registered card they'd be more inclined to offer the extra for free? I've never actually taken advantage of the perks of my card, so I don't know what you can and can't get for free.

I often wonder about the free syrup part too cos I always order than give them my starbucks card after they told me the total and I never keep track of the $$ :(
Anyways, let me know what you think about the regular HC cos I never heard any comment about SB's HC...and I'll see if I could try the espresso chocolate truffle today..:cheesygri

the espresso truffle is made from the signature hot chocolate and theres no syrup added... you could add more regular mocha syrup but it might taste weird
that stuff is sweet enough though as it is.
