i use a benq g2400 with my 360, it supports 1:1 pixel mapping too. But, I think the 360 supports outputting a 16:10 image now anyways so it doesn't matter about the monitor just use HDMI to DVI even if it doesn't have a HDMI port.

i looked at the samsung t220 (the one that's similar to touch of color T220HD)

I'm in the same boat. I've been doing a lot of research and I've narrowed my choices down to LG L227WTG-PF which is on sale at FS right now($50 off) and Benq V2400W. Both have really low input lag which is great for FPS and good picture quality. People seem to be generally pleased with these monitors.
The samsung T220HD would have been a good choice because of it's tuner and connectivity but the HD versions have higher input lag vs it's non HD counterpart. Look here:

Not too mention having to deal with samsungs panel lottery and backlight bleeding which all LCDs suffer from to some extent.
I might go down to FS later and pick up the L227WTG-PF but the only thing holding me back is the fact that LCD monitors just don't have the contrast ratio of TVs and I'm wondering if I just wouldn't be better off picking one up for my xbox instead. Maybe a 32" sammy ironically lol. The 5 series are great.
If you get a chance to check out the monitors I mentioned, I would love to hear your thoughts. Good luck!

I have Benq 2400W. I play PS2, PS3 and PC games on it. Since it has 3 output options (HDMI, DVI, and VGA) you can switch between console/PC easily with just a push of a bottom. The image quality is great and it support 1080p HD, although it does reflect alot of sunlight if you put it near the window. It also has a build-in headphone jack (no build-in speaker) for sound output via HDMI, but dont expect top notch quality.
Overall i am very pleased with this monitor, specially for gaming purposes. If you use it mainly for games, i highly recommend this monitor.

I use the Samsung275T for PC/PS3/360 and it works pretty good with pretty fast response.
PS3 looks better on my old 720P TV but it plays well, wish it had a HDMI port though.
PIP is awesome for multitasking (gaming, browsing)

is it the contrast ratio that determines how sharp the image looks?
i just don't want a display that's kinda washed out and everything looks greyish.. i like a really bright looking and where the white looks really white and the black looks really black.
(and what's dynamic contrast ratio?)

I'm using a Samsung 2253BW and running a HDMI-DVI cable from my console. Graphics are great and no overscan. The 2253BW is a fast matrix although still TN. Another plus point is lack of glare, it's a matte screen.
