Fable 2 LE Contents FREE to everybody!

Well, apparently everybody, that is, except for those in the US and Australia. It seems that everybody else in Europe, Canada and Asia can now download the English Language Pack from Live (look under your Fable 2 DLC tab). Clocking in at about 900+ megs, you will, surprisingly enough, acquire not only the language pack, but all the contents that would have come with the LE version of the game - dungeon, cutlass, and Halo armour - free. It's been confirmed to work by quite a few people, and being a Canuck myself, I checked out the tab and found that the content is indeed there. Lacking Live Gold, however, I will have to wait a week to get it.

What this means for you lucky people with Live Gold and who can happen to find this Language Pack is obvious... Maybe they'll take it off later or maybe they won't. Get yours now!

Sure it's 900 megs, but hey, those of us who paid for ours either haven't even gotten it yet (still waiting on MS, who are looking at the moment, quite disagreeable at the moment), or we've paid $10 for the privilege to save 900 megs on our HDD. It's a worthy tradeoff, I'm thinking.

While people who've bought the LE like yours truly are understandably a little miffed at this point (after all, apparently our extra $10 paid for a paper sleeve, a sideways slip for the case, and a making-of DVD whose contents are easily DLed just about everywhere), I am happy that the content is now available to others. $10 isn't enough to lose any sleep over, but rest assured that I will certainly think twice about buying into the Fable 3 LE...

Thank the Frenchies. We've got 2 national languages, and odds are that's why we're getting the English Voice Pack that unlocks all of the content. J'ai dépensé 10 dollars et n'ai obtenu rien, il semble. Merci beaucoup?

Byan do you know if anything special needs to be done to unlock the content or is it just there and that's it. I think there was an unlock code on the shipped version? ...so this was MS's solution for fixing the missing keys in shipped boxes? lol...

Nope, just DL the language pack, do any updates the game tells you to do, then at the end of the first dungeon you will remember there is a chest that tells you to go to Fable2.com to get items. Open that chest and viola! Halo armour. The LE dungeon can be found towards the end of the game. At the end of this dungeon you get the legendary cutlass. Just make sure you go to Fable 2.com to get all the other cool stuff too, since once you open the chest on one character you will have to start a new one to open it again. So say, you opened the chest for your Minstrel Chief set and then decided you want the chicken suit, tough noogies.

People like me are still waiting for our codes. We're still waiting 10 days for MS to "verify and authenticate" our LE copy. This is a screwup of heavenly proportions, but one which you guys should be thankful for. Grab it while you can, ladies and gents.

I suppose we can say we saved 900 megs on our HDD, but that's only if MS actually gives us the code, which they still haven't. Certainly will make me think twice before buying into another LH LCE...

Yea comparing Fable 2 CE with my Fallout 3 CE, NONE of the stuff in Fable 2 CE can really be called "collectible". At least Fallout gives you a nice little bobblehead and lunchbox, disregarding how useful they are.

Once upon a time it was supposed to come with an art book, a hobbes figure, and 5 fate cards in addition to the making-of DVD and the unique DLC. That would have been worth getting. But alas, this is one time that those of us who bought into it were screwed big time. But I'm surprised that none of the bigger gaming websites have even mentioned the entire fiasco.

As for getting the items, blame LH. It's their call. They could have just spawned a chest somewhere when you DLed your new stuff, but instead they have that one chest that can be opened once and only once.

I have the Fallout CE as well. It doesn't even begin to compare.

Try it with a new character. Some others have been saying that it doesn't work lately as well. Not sure if they fixed the glitch or what. DL the content, load up the UK english language pack, and then start a new hero. Should be there.

don't forget the chicken suit. you have to play the chicken game i believe. i wish i could play it though. it lags so much i can't get the chicken in the basket >:(

try saving in front of the chest. then exit your game. reload and see if you can open it now.

I tried saving it front of the chest, quitting, then loading the saved. Didn't work. Tried a new character too, didn't work.

Yep, by all accounts lately the language pack contains... just the language pack. Must be a glitch or something that they fixed up after a few days. Meanwhile actually getting the codes to the LE buyers took 3 weeks. Geez.

They sent me two codes and neither one works after following the EXACT instructions.. honestly, I give up.
