Looks like 1.6 being released in Asia with "micropayments" such as real life money for more guns, outfits in game. Pretty much copying the the asian mmorpgs micro payment system and valve milking Asia for it

The reason why it is still 1.6 is because that is still numero uno on the competitive side of CS.

It looks exactly like 1.6 with some sort of weird azn money and social mmo style additions... I have been playing cs on and off since beta 2.0 this CS 2008 makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Only reason I have played cs this long is because of the community and the compeitive aspect.

Just get it on steam, its cheap and easy to get. Its an online only game so this seems like the best option by far

i still play 1.6 as well.. lol. ever since my friend got me hooked back in high school, i've been addicted. i stopped playing it so much now (i used to play it after school every day for hours) but i still pub / scrim with friends once in a while.

i had source for a little bit, but overall i like 1.6 a lot more. besides, my crap computer can't handle source and my account w/ source got hijacked :(
