Check out this nice game coming from the makers of Indigo Prophecy!
Very impressive graphics + adventure story.

Heres a link to the video, the announcer speaks french so i have no idea what he's saying : Click Here (http://www.gamekyo.com/videoen13497_heavy-rain-public-presentation-video-mirror.html)

Some points the guy on Neogaf made:

- In this demo, the player takes the role of a young journalist who is investigating on several girls' disappearances, she goes to a house of a taxidermist who is suspected of killing these women. In this presentation, the Producer of the game shows 2 different ways to finish this demo, there are lots of different ways to get through the story.

- Multiple view camera system, not always behind the girl.

- The demo is fully playable, no cut-scenes, the player can control the girl at any time.

- The Sixaxis motion sensor is used in the game to make different moves (open a window, raise or hit on an object, etc.).

- It is possible to hear what is happening in the mind of the character, so the player knows the different choices that are available.

- No loadings in the game!

- Backgrounds are fully interactive (all objects can be used, all doors can be opened, etc.).

- Very interesting Split Screen System to keep an eye on the murderer, control the character at the same time.

- The player has to maintain several buttons to stay hidden, uncomfortable situation for the player to reproduce the same stress in the game.

- Quick time events for some action scenes.

I've read that this entire level was made for this demo, so this part won't show up in the game. It's a good example of how the game will be played/experienced

Wow even after seeing the pics a few months back I never thought they could do that in real time. This is a very pleasant surprise.

Yeah right. Fanboys said the same thing about 2007 and 2008.

rofl.. arent u a 360 fanboy for the above comment?

personally i picked a ps3 because there were more games that i wanted to play on it than a 360... and i also hate that controller too on the 360...

but i guess to each their own... but to get mgs4 and uncharted.. that was pure ownage

haha, based on one game, looks like you are well informed.

I own a 360, and by no means am i a fan boy. I would purchase a PS3 myself but i just picked up a PSP instead.

I think both consoles will have a strong 2009. The number of exclusives for each system have been going down drastically.

Each system has its ups and downs and that above comment actually made me laugh for a second.

I do not know why people bash systems. If they are both doing well, it only means stronger competition and the fact both manufacturers have to try harder to please the crowd -> this means more quality

agreed, competition on the market is a good thing. Imagine if Sony or MS quit the gaming industry right now. We would be left with one hardcore system and one casual gaming system. I would see the hardcore console dropping in quality games because they know people will have to buy this one system just for the hardcore games whether they are good or bad. The casual system already experiences this where the great games are hidden behind 20-30 or so bad games.

Competition will create great games on every system and we don't want any of them to lose. What if EA entered the console fray???

I do prefer the 360 just because of the more ergonomic controller but I buy all the major exclusives on PS3, Wii and 360. I like to have all systems.
Just as people have mentioned, competition is good. It's just that Sony fanboys (who won't take a look at any other console), who got used to utter domination with PS1 and PS2 keep saying PS3 will dominate 2007, then when that didn't happen, 2008 which again isn't happening. It's getting to be a tired refrain. Just enjoy the games is really what it should be all about.

Nice Alan Wake looks great as well, hopefully it plays well like max payne 1 and 2. I'm a big fan of remedy and their games. I wonder if they will add something like Bullet time and some clever game mechanics (just read up on the use of light, sweet)? Reading the wiki, I can say the dreamlike sequences will be freaky... even more-so than max payne's. I'll pick it up on PC :P

Because it's really easy to compare two games that aren't out yet.

Both Heavy Rain and Allan Wake look great.

+1

Wii is king of shovelware, but there's quite a few gems in the swamp that is the Wii library. Could say the same of PS2 last generation. PS2 = mainstream, everyone had one, Xbox = hardcore gamers, Gamecube = niche console to own.
