View Full Version : Guitar Hero: World Tour Controller Compatible w/ Rockband? [PS3: OK, X360: OK, Wii:?]

Although Rock Band 2 isn't out yet, I was wondering if anyone's Wii controller of GH:WT is able to work on Rock Band 1 for the Wii.

I've tried searching it up, but either no one's tried it out yet or they just don't want to let people know that it won't work...

I found this chart particularly useful. Seems that the Xbox360 & PS3 WT guitar works with all (or will be) RB and GH games:

I just hope the Wii owners don't get shafted in this new release.

If only these companies can settle their beef, we could benefits from it, or at least hope for someone to hack or mod software to make it compatible!

I would also like to know the compatibility for Wii Instruments before I go out and buy one or the other... :(

According to that, GH3 guitars can be used with RB2 but not RB1.

Nintendo hasn't mandated cross-compatibility like Sony/MS so it's up in the air. Hopefully Harmonix and Neversoft are listening to consumers and spend the time to make their kits work with the other.

This Sucks For me I bought the GH:WT kit for PS3 and got myself RB2 the game only. Now I realise that the GH Drums don't work with RB2, I just wasted $60 :mad:.

don't be too quick to jump to conclusions. harmonix is working on a patch. release date is unknown.

i think its stupid for them not to make them backwards compatible with the different games. Regardless I'm going to buy the game I want, but if the instruments worked on both, then the other company would still get a small piece of the pie by me buying the software as well.

I thought Sony required the two companies to share basic instrument compatibility between RB2 and GH4.

I'm surprised to hear the GH drums don't work on RB2.
