Hey people,
I'm looking for a Fine dining steak house in Downtown Toronto, can anyone recommend a good one? the ones I'm trying to avoid are Baton Rouge, Ruth's... I have nothing against these restaurants it's just that I want to try something new. Price doesn't really concern me, I just want to get a good idea on whats around downtown.
I've looked up some restaurants like 5th Elementt, Harbour Sixty Steakhouse but I couldn't find any reviews on them.
If anyone can help that would be great !!

there should be enough reviews of those places on here.
Especially after the summer/winterlicious promos.
But the search engine is pretty crappy here.
A lot of people recommend Harbour 60. Cant say from firsthand experience though.

Go to Toronto Life and search restaurant reviews...this is a good place to start.
Our old standby JOV closed (ok for us it was when Owen Steinberg left)...since then we were incredibly impressed with Splendido.

The Tom Jones Steak House is a great steakhouse, just outside the east doors of the King Edward Hotel. I've eaten there three time, I've never had a bad meal. Upstairs is a New York style piano bar and dining room is the perfect place for dinner as well as after theater or late dining.

Always comes to mind for me too...love it there.
Morton's is a fave if you like steak.
Another restaurant I can't get enough of is Opus

I'd recommend Harbour Sixty Restaurant since you're trying to avoid the common chains, I've never been but my old work use to take the top dogs there for lunch when they had big meetings. If its good enough for the high rolling top dogs, I'm sure it can't be that bad. :cheesygri

Not a steakhouse, by Bymark makes an excellent steak and one of the best burgers in town. Definitely fine/upscale dining.
