Couple questions for you guys
I've looked but can't find any answer
anyone know if PSN cards are going to be coming to/are available in Canada at all?
I know walmart down south sells them but I've never seen them up here
Question #2
anyone know if a PSN card purchased in the US will work in Canada?
the reason I ask is because I want to get stuff off PSN but have reservations about giving sony my credit card info

NO PSN Cards in Canada yet but Best Buy US just got them so it might come soon because they are such a large chain.
I do not believe the cards will work in Canada because on the PSN store we still use Canadian dollars and they use American dollars. I guess you can technically make them work by making a US PSN and buying via that route (haven't tried it, but check the official playstation forums).
If you really wanted, you could have searched for the myriads of threads about these exact same cards.

best solution: go to your local 7-11/Shopper Drug Mart, pickup a Vanilla MasterCard with a preloaded amount of $25-$50-$75-$100. Works on ebay too:cheesygri

that reason doesn't sound right. We don't have the Movie store because of copyright issues. Its starting to appear in Japan and Europe by next year.
Its easy for them to get the rights and stuff down in the US and its much harder in Canada.
XBL and Wii are POINTS cards. PSN CARDS = MONEY. thats the main difference.
When you go to buy POINTS they charge tax. PSN Cards = no tax at the retail outlet because they charge tax on the PStore. Its probably not here because of the Canadian dollar looking real weak right now. It wouldn't make sense for them to be dishing out $20 dollar cards here for the Canadian dollar at this moment especially when games are the same price on both stores now.
Just buy a large mastercard gift cards and use it on PSN Store and on the web to buy stuff as well.

One reason is I believe 360 is only rentals (for movies) and it only came out last Christmas to Canada. Sony's Video service only launched this year and that was about May I believe (whenever E3 was). So it took just a bit over a year to get the store to even show up in Canada.
Secondly, Sony is backing Blu-ray so they are gonna want people to buy that first and foremost. I don't mind the video store not showing up here because I wouldn't buy them anyways. I would have tried the service but in the end the PC has all those options.

Its not copyright issues its distribution issues. They have to negotiate the distribution rights with the Canadian distributor of the movie\tv show in most cases which takes time\money. In some cases more then its worth for Sony or MS to be bothered with it for such a small client base (relatively speaking of course).
