Would like to hook up in the same room:
- 2 displays: projector and TV
- a few sources: PS3 (via HDMI), XBox (via component) and amplifier

The problem is that the projector is on one wall, while the TV is on the other. If I put the sources on the wall with the projector, I need to get video (HDMI and component) to the TV on the other side of the room. If I put the amp/ps3/xbox on the side with the TV, I need to get HDMI/component to the projector.

The room is about 4x5m, and about 3m in height. Not sure where to put the equipment to be able to do this.

What are the maximum lengths for component cables? Optical (Toslink) cables? HDMI?

Also, is it possible to split an HDMI connection so I can hook up both a TV and projector (assume both take 1080p signals).

Thanks,

hades

When you're looking for distribution of multiple sources with different video formats to multiple displays, I find it's cheaper to deal with simple splitters than distribution amplifiers. In a room that small, you shouldn't see any appreciable signal loss. You can get HDMI, DVI, or Component cables in those lengths from Monoprice....in fact, I'd check their prices on splitters, too.
