Hey,
I need to connect my macbook air hard drive (ipod hard drive) to my computer to try and recover some files. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the process...?
Will this work: http://cgi.ebay.ca/New-1-8-to-3-5-desktop-IDE-HDD-Adapter-for-IPOD_W0QQitemZ260302929191QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item 260302929191&_trkparms=72%3A1215%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C 240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
The 1.8 HDD pins seem to be too large? However, it seems to be the right one...
Any suggestions would be appreciated..
thanks

I saw one of those on www.dealextreme.com.
Their site is currently down, so I can't get a link for you.
It's free shipping from that site.

Yeah, Deal Extreme has them.
They also have one of those SATA/IDE to USB things, which I'm pretty sure supports 1.8" drives (although it's closer to $20, and not <$5). It's not like the ones at NCIX, the one I'm talking about. The thing you plug into your drives is square. The NCIX-styled ones are only good for 2.5/3.5/5.25" drives.
Hmm, hope DX didn't go out of business, since I just ordered $50 worth of stuff from them :).
Don't know about getting your data off, though. Knowing Apple, it probably uses some flakeyass, proprietary thing.

This is the one I was talking about before

The 1.8" connector is below the SATA connector.
It takes forever to get your stuff ... 3-4 weeks.
