Hi Guys,
Dec 2006 boxing day, I bought an Acer Quad Core Q6600 2.4ghz for approx $599 from Futureshop.
My memory is just 2GB @ 533mhz. That is what it came with. Given I have a quad core I'm sure I can run the 667mhz Ram but do you feel I can run the 800 or 1066mhz ram?
I have not opened the case but just given the brand and cost of the machine as well as the time purchased do you feel there is a chance I can install 1066mhz or 800 mhz memory?
If not - given pricing and deals on 1066mhz, if I put that in 2gb x2, would it simply clock down to a speed it can handle?
Please let me know if anybody has any experience with ACER and low end Quad's from Futureshop.
