Here is my problem:

When I insert my 4 gb Dane-Elec SDHC card in my internal card reader, I get the following error: F:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

The card is new, I'm thinking its a windows problem and found a hotfix #923293 which didn't work. Is there any other suggestions other than connect card to appropriate external reader or insert card in device and use a USB port?

I would prefer to keep using my internal pc card reader.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, does your reader support SDHC? Many do not...

The logical step to take would be to plug in a different SD card, preferably a non-HC one, or another supported card type, and see if it works.

The internal card reader works fine for all other media cards just not SDHC

I think it's safe to assume that your reader doesn't support SDHC.

DX's site is gimped right now, but check out this one (from a bookmarked URL ... should be a black Unitek 3.5" multi-card reader, with USB+eSATA):
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9404

It reads SDHC. If you want other jacks, they have several others there. Just check the user comments to see if it supports SDHC.
