Did you want active noise cancelling ear buds? (ones you have to put in a AAA battery to operate) or just passive ear buds ?

If you want something affordable, check out Purtek's noise cancelling headphones. They're suppose to have the same technology as Bose's active noise cancelling headphones... for $39.99. I haven't seen them anywhere other than Black's photography though.

RFD's all-time favorite earbuds: Creative EP-630
EP-840 and EP-640 are out now, but I haven't seen any "sales" for them. I also don't know if they're better.

I do not recommend this brand.
why not?
I am using them they're very good. Consider i don't have to fork over 120-200 for a pair of bose or something and get very similar results.

I'd say Creative EP-630 @ $13 is the best bang for the buck. It's RFD's favorite for a good reason :cheesygri

You've clearly never used anything other than the Future Shop house brand. They're on super-high mark-up too, why do you think they carry them? Buy them cheap, sell them at a "premium" price. Only people who don't know what they're looking for will buy Skull Candys, thinking they're good cans for the money. Sure, they may sound good to you, but you're still getting ripped off.
OP: Creative EP-630 from Dell, or Sennheiser's CX300.

+1 on the cx300. I used to use the sony in ear ones that came with my sony walkman phones and i thought those were amazing, but then after trying out my friends cx300, couldn't resist.
btw don't get me wrong, those sony ones were amazing still (for a headphone that comes with a phone) but cx300 is on another level.

ah ok.
so the CX300 or the creative are both $40 right now on newegg and other site
i saw this site that had the CX400 for like $30 but its in the US.. maybe i can use a forwarding company to bring it to canada... is the 400 a lot better than the 300?

Its not a house product.
The Mark up for it is the same as the Bose and Sennheiser's
about 5-10$

the cheapest is obviously cx300, im716 and ep630... the other ones are actually "professional" audio companies.

The creative ones are pretty good, I have 2 pairs. I am not an audiophile so I have no qualms about the quality, for sure they sound better than elcheapo non in-ear buds.
They also can take some good abuse, I have had mine for 1.5 yrs and I have no problems. Usually for me after about 1 year, one of the buds will stop working.
