Do you use Twitter or Facebook as a business tool?

I don't use Facebook much for business purposes, but Twitter is great for networking. I have a freelance writing business (michaelkwan.com) and Twitter can serve as a source for leads.

Twitter is fantastic though, keep in touch with friends and meet tons of people who share common goals.

Have a facebook "page" that actually gets a few hits a day, but no promotion on it. I messaged my friends about it at the start, and updated status for new promotions.

That's twitter. Basically a site where you can post updates about what you're doing live so other people can see.

I use Facebook as a cost-free advertising tool for my retail business. It has performed very well, I have almost 1k members. It works well for me b/c the lines I carry are generally hard-to-find and it creates a sense of immediacy when I post that I have new stuff in.
