anyone been in the past? worth the drive? prices & selection?


CRAYOLA CANADA - Annual United Way Sale
What child, parent or teacher hasn't heard of Crayola, a company that produces 3 billion crayons plus millions of coloured pencils, chalk, markers and creative supplies that are sold in 80 countries around the world? For the past 20 years, Crayola's Canadian headquarters in Lindsay has held a mammoth sale of products with proceeds going to the United Way, attracting teachers and parent from across Ontario. Sale items include crayons, markers, chalk, end of lines and surplus stock at unbelievably low prices. It is well worth the drive and for a worthy cause.

They have lined up the day/night before for this in the past...and yes as noted above they come from all over Ontario and USA. In previous years the sales were from overstock from the manufacturing plant but now it is just a warehouse (all made in USA). Generally the sale raises between $30-40,000 for the local United Way.

I think its worth it. I thought I had missed it this year. A couple of years ago, we even got a skunk who thought it might be interresting to shop around. The lines are long though.

Specially good if picking up kids markers and crayons.

Worth it for United Way, or for the consumer? Lindsay is kinda far for me and I hate lining up for anything.

However, my kid is an avid drawer and budding artist. If it's worth it, I might just stock up for xmas now.
