Just painted my front doors and took off the old tarnished 6" x 28" brass kick plates. However, going to the big box stores (HD/Rona/Lowes) has not helped me one bit as they only have 6" x 30" and bigger.

Does anyone know a store where I can buy them? I would prefer pre-drilled as I have the holes in the doors from the old kick plates, it would be nice not to have to punch matching holes.

I know they exist as there are many online stores that sell them, however they only ship within the continental US so I'm S.O.L. there as well.

How about refurbing the old one with some Brasso? I bet it'd turn out really nice.

I happened to see them at Canadian Tire the other day, in the section where they have door numbers and hardware. I am not sure of the exact size though. It is not difficult to cut brass sheet. You can score it (on the back side) with a box cutter blade several (many?) times and it will bend till it breaks at the score line.
As for pre-drilled, I am not sure. What makes you think that the original came pre-drilled?

Thanks, I'll check a CT store over the weekend. There is nothing on their website and I've found that phoning a CT store is an exercise in migraine creation.

I'm not certain the original came pre-drilled, but the replacements at HD, etc. were all pre-drilled as were the ones online. I guess I assumed there was a standard "screw placement" that would save me having to make a template from my existing doors and punch holes (and mess up and start again ), etc.

Hmm. Good idea. I've already got a container of it in the garage, but I remember not having much luck getting any kind of results with it last time (on our brass mailbox). Still, if I can't find a replacement, this might be a good alternative.

Well, if it is pre-drilled then just take some putty and fill the old holes before you install the new kick plate.

As for the Brasso, the reason it may not have worked is that there is generally a clear coating sprayed on the brass so you don't have to polish it. You need to remove that coating and then you can polish it but....you better be prepared to polish it very often because it will tarnish fast being outside in the elements.
