Hi,

I'm planning on going to the Caribbean or Mexico for spring break (last week of February 2009) and I was wondering when usually is a good time to get a deal on tickets? Me & my friends are looking for an all-inclusive resort and since we are graduating are likely to splurge on a 4 star. I was thinking most deal would come out near middle/end of January, but wanted confirmation. Also I'm sure it's possible to get something cheap really last minute, but we'd want to buy a few weeks in advance.

Thanks in advance

Are you serious?

There won't be any great deals for reading week/spring break. The resorts know all about it and have for years and price accordingly.

The only thing you might try, and it's risky, is to book last minute and pick up any scraps that are left (usually resorts no one else wants) a couple of days before departure.

Good luck....

Thanks Dutchca

I'm not expecting super deals, just don't want to get overpriced too much.
As for resorts pricing higher during spring break weeks, I assume most of them have a calendar of when schools are off. Most people in the USA are off in March and on my week only 3 school are off McGill/Concordia/Michigan. So with only 120k or so student off compared to over 1 million in some weeks I hope the price goes down a bit.

Anyways for a 4 star all-inclusive in say Cancun or Punta Cana end of February anyone know what type of price I can expect.

Thanks

Search places like Selloffvacations.com (there is a big list of sites stickied at the top of the forum).

A quick search tells me you will be paying at least $1100 per person from Montreal to the sub-par 4* places.
