Ok I asked specifically for the “desi” people because they would understand the wordings of the songs etc. etc. But everyone is welcome for their input….

So my older sister is getting engaged and I’m trying to help my future brother in law with his proposal. The thing is she knows the day he’ll propose because they talked about it and all, and she even picked her ring out. Because we are both very very alike, she wanted me to help him with their special day. Now I know she likes the corny bollywood stuff (same as me) and I came up with something that’s corny for sure but I know she’ll never forget her proposal if all goes as planned. Because she already knows the day, I thought why not knock her off her shoes and do something memorable?

So guys’gals here’s my plan, before I tell my bro-in law and our friends wanted to get some input:

We go to dinner in an Indian restaurant:
(need a place that’s classy/money is not an object as per bro in law, and somewhere where there’s like a performance stage or even a dance floor, and a co-operating manager)

I know she’s expecting something but middle of the dinner Bro in law suddenly tells her he HAS to leave because there’s an emergency call (He’s a cop, so that’s believable) and that he’ll make it up to her.

At this point knowing my sister she’ll be shocked and really upset obviously. We all convince her that it’s part of his job and that we should just leave. (ofcouse meaning what we had planned for her engagement has to be postponed)

Right when we get to leave, bro in law (has already done the backstage stuff and ready for his show) does a little performance with this song…..

Up until 1:33 the part he says “I’ve got to ask you something”

At this point she’s relieved and while he walks upto her, play her fav song in the background while he proposes.

ok i don't get this, they picked out a date for the engagement, i understand that, usually theres an engagement ceremony were the families get together and the purposal happens, but the way you describe it doesnt seem to be this engagement ceremony, if this is a case why have they picked out a date to get engaged?

why play with her emotions instead of just being forth comming with the song and ring? crushing her just to bring her back up is just cruel.

So the date is pre-planned. The ring is pre-selected.

Sounds more like a wedding than a wedding proposal...but that's just me.
