Not sure if we have a jokes/fun section. Just wanted to share this with you.

This may put the whole credit crisis in perspective:

If you had purchased $1,000 of AIG stock one year ago, you would have $42 left.
With Lehman, you would have $6.60 left.
With Fannie or Freddie, you would have less than $5 left.

But if you had purchased $1,000 worth of alcohol one year ago, drank all of it, then turned in the bottles for the recycling REFUND, you would have had $114.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

actually...

100 bottles of red wine at $10 (the cheap kind lol) a pop would mean about opening a new bottle of win every 3 and something days.....thats about 250ml per day...which is actually good for you :cheesygri

(god i hope my math is correct...cause the RFD math police will get me)

I think I remember this from the old Enron days, lol.

So I'm curious... if all the money's gone, where'd it go?

Lehmen 52 wk high: $67.73

Today, 9.8 cents.

That's about 4 cases of beer. Even if it only gets you 48 beer, you'd have $4.80 in bottles.

Leverage. It lets you make (or lose) a lot of money, with very little money invested.

Sorry, I have no idea how to put that into an analogy for beer - I wish I could though.

If it's about stocks, for every seller there's a buyer.
So there are people who were selling those stocks when the prices were high. They could be selling for all sorts of reasons, taking advantage of insider information could be one of them

In beer terms, think a funnel. You can get a lot of drinks quickly, but you are also far more likely to throw up if you screw up and drink the wrong stuff.

You could have spent the $1000 on a nice 42" tv and an xbox 360 from dell.

And a year later you would still have a nice tv and game system...

What about if you spent $1000 on HD-DVD players?

What about if you spent $1000 on HD-DVD players?

Then if you were to sell that HD-DVD player today, you could get OP's stash of beer bottles.

hmm.,...seems that OP got banned....
