Just found out today my wife can get home internet paid for with her school division, because she works in the rural sector. Plus they back pay from when she started last September 2007.
We are Xplornet now because we live on an acreage, so that will be a backpay of about $650, plus the ongoing monthly charge will be paid.
Kinda made my day.
And before anyone ill say it get a blog :cheesygri
But isnt that was off topic is about

While I was reading the OP's post, I was thinking in my mind "the first reply has GOT to be a picture with caption but no words typed out". And indeed it was :cheesygri .

I got free internet from work too ... not really a big deal (only costs like $20/m for my high speed)

ExplorNet is satellite connection and it's garbage. The service provides crazy latency , in the 600 ms. Forget running a VOIP with it. When there's a storm, it gets knocked out or doesn't work. Good thing you are not paying for it lol

I get free internet when I use my laptop because someone in my girlfriend's building doesn't have his router secured.

There are free WIFI hotspots all over the place. I have 2 unprotected routers near my house with strong signals, one of them being wireless-N.

I am!!
I would be flying skyhigh if someone tell me I could get $650 back!! Ok...I exaggerated that
I highly doubt I could get reception if my neighbours doesn't secure their router. I could hardly have consistent reception from my own router! I HATE ROGERS!!!!

Depends where u are. Here its wireless, not sattelite. So my speeds are about what I had when I was with Telus.
Maybe you shoudl do some research before you start calling down other peoples stuff.
We've had storms here all summer, and never lost connection. Even when an tornado was here this summer it never went down (i used it to keep track of the storm)
I dont use VOIP so I could care less
Anything else :cheesygri

Unfortuanly not to many free hot spots when you live out of the city. At least this way I dont have my stuff secure anymore

How can one "discuss" the subject of you getting free internet and a hefty return, when a reply of, "oh." would have been appropriate?

You've seen the amount of "high-quality" topics (denoted by singular stars ratings) lately ;)
