I'm going to LA this thursday and will go to Vegas on Sunday. Was thinking about shopping/food/tourist in LA friday and satursday. Any places I should absolutely go/try? And then will stay in Vegas Sunday till monday, I'm thinking about gambling/pool/visit some casinos/maybe grand canyon/food/a show, again any Must See/Try in Vegas?

I have about 4 days total, I love food, shopping, must-see places!

Can only help you with the Vegas part - it depends on your priority in Vegas. Will you go there again anytime soon? Whats more important to you? Also depends on your arrival/departure time too.

If you go to grand canyon, even with helicopter tour, that will pretty much take up your full day.

You only have 4 days. LA is huge and takes time to get around and LV has so much and also takes time to see. That does not include your own traveling time between the two (500 kms if driving) and the airport wait times and to hotels time (if flying). You basically only have a full day and night in each. You will really only be able to do things close to your hotel.

I'm arriving in LA Today at 8PM PST and then leaving (by car) the morning of Sunday to Vegas and stay till Monday PM. I will be living at my relative's house, dont know yet where it is... :/

I went twice to Vegas already, gambled, visit casinos/hotels and free outdoor shows. This time I want to see a show that's worth seeing, I might have to skip Canyon if it takes the whole day. I dont have any plans for returning to Vegas in the short term (2-3 yrs).

What is special and you loved about the two place? What I love is food and doing/trying special things.

i went to LA and vegas this summer.

Not sure what you're interested in, but dislanyland and universal studios might be an option.

hollywood is ok, i only stayed there for 3 hours, not much to do there though.

i went to the getty villa in malibu, that was nice if you're into greek and roman museum stuff. the architecture of the museum was gorgeous (my pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/laineylains/sets/72157606260948445/)

go to a beach: venice is nice.

santa monica is cool since it has a beach, the pier with a free admission theme park (kind of small though) and 3rd street promenade (shopping)

4 days is not a lot for both la and vegas. LA is so big, lots of time is spent traveling.

And driving to vegas takes awhile. the canyon takes a whole day.

for shows go see Le Reve or O or Ka! next time i go, i want to see a show every night i am there.

and try fine dinning in vegas, some of the 'best chefs' are there.
