Buyer beware: Jordan Cote - theomegaking@gmail.com - jabronowski@hotmail.com

http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=645326

I got lured into buying the Samsung Syncmaster 2443bw for an incredible (and unbelievable) price of $255 - the monitor retails for $300+. Shortly after PM'ing the user, he marked the thread as "Sold". I pm'ed the user with the details and the shipping address - and as soon as I sent him the security answer for the EMT - I never got a single reply back. At this time, I decided to post that I sent the EMT in the thread.

As soon as I read the messages from JIS and cmhyt, and a PM from nsx - I realized that I made a mistake by sending the EMT and called my bank immediately and told them my situation. They have advised me to contact CertaPay. Upon contacting them, they told me that they will investigate this case and will put a hold on the transaction.

Well Jordan, if you are reading this and think that you can get away with my money - think again! I will rather let that $255 rot at "In Settlement" status forever than to have you ever cash it out.

I was about to jump on this too, I was about to PM him when his thread changed to 'Sold', so I gave up.

I hope everyone gets their money back!

I was the first to contact him. I requested his full contact info and explained I must verify name/number/address & speak to him long-distance before we proceed. Then I logged off to sleep.

In the morning, I see his LCD's been sold but he never replied with his info. I PMed his previous buyer and discover Jordan Cote drives a early model Blue Honda Civic and found it strange that both RFDers created their account less than 30 days ago.

Huge Red FLAG

I pretended not to notice his "Sold" LCD and PMed him again. This time he says he doesn't have receipts but he has a second brand new identical LCD from a local store. Same price but I have to EMT.

Ummm, I have 90 BST Feedback vs. his 1 Feedback. I'm not paying first when it's taken me 3 years to build my rep. He should ship first and I'll EMT after I inspect the LCD... Dude kept PMing "EMT EMT EMT" hurry and EMT and I'll ship or someone else will take it.

I don't respond to baiting/threats so I went to bed thinking "this is a Scam", He Never Provided His Info!

I hope everyone gets their money back!

Just let the Bank & Police handle it. Joker scammed $225 from so many people without remorse so he can stand in-front of the judge during sentencing. To pull off a scam like this, Jordan can't be let off with an apology. This is outright theft/fraud, perhaps he can bribe RFDers and sweeten their refund with an extra $50 Each! Jordan Cote is reading right now --- Just waiting for the police to knock on his door :)

I hope this helps people stay away from this seller - that is why I am posting it. Plus - I believe the link to Scammers and Warnings should be a sticky in all the buy/sell trade forums. (Just a suggestion)

One more thing I wanted to add was that I sent him the EMT on the wrong email address and he still replied back stating that he got it.
He sent me the hotmail email address to send the EMT to - I have no idea how i got the gmail but he still replied back stating that he recieved it.

Ok, but did you verify his full contact info before paying (name address phone number - POST IT HERE)? Use reverse lookup, google his name & email accounts, then phone him? Dude really pulled a big one over RFDers and deserves Police attention. He created an elaborate story with photos (and cat), and took money from several RFDers even though he said his LCD was sold.

At one point, I even offered to pay his mileage if he delivered to Toronto. Dude just laughed and asked for EMT EMT EMT. This LCD is yours if you EMT.

I made the rookie mistake and didnt ask for any of his contact information - only the email address.
I googled 'theomegaking' just now - comes up with this very interesting thread:

Edit: 7jaii: is this the number you contacted: (514) 245-9321?

I can't believe it, at least four people sent EMT ($1000+). All people who got scammed please post your conversation with him, possibly any identity. I hope he's not gonna got away with this huge mess. Don't let him- call legal authorities.

The following link has some info about him perhaps:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=49480

He also scammed a bike from someone else and trying to sell that (lure) as well. Credit to tomho for the following link:

I sent my EMT yesterday at around 3:00pm.

This is the info I was provided.

Jabronowski@hotmail.com

I didn't think nothing of it until I saw F33nix's post last night before bed. I then searched Bochal's post and saw he posted a new for sale thread for a Garmin Nuvi GPS unit:

http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7533023#post7533023

After looking at the pics I noticed that the addresses were in the US, I did a quick google search and found the exact same post here:

http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=353853

He just copied it word for word.. and that's when I knew for certain I was out $255.

I thought it would be fine since the seller was accepting local pickup.. guess not!

Guys,

I did a deal with this person and it was a local deal.

I don't know him and I have received two e-mails from him.

He is legitimate in my case and sold me a monitor and I picked it up from him at Tim Hortons on Ellesmere Road in Scarboro.

Please do not hold me liable for anything he has done... he specifically asked me to leave him feedback and if he only sent you money yesterday you gotta talk to him I have nothing to do with him!!

I am sorry to hear about your problems but I don't know this guy from a hole in the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you consider the emails shown above from Jac it's funny that you have an email address of watchknutt@gmail.com when you look at the sale thread for the monitor: here (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641979)...

Hmm.. a bit of a contradiction here. You dealt with him locally, whereas he states that he is not in Toronto at all.

Also, this may be the same Ottawa scammer after all:

Any updates?

This can't be it. If 4 RFDers sent EMT then they can post their PMs and transaction times...clues that will "out" Jordan Cote's duplicate accounts here. I didn't lose money but I'm still willing to help.

From past threads, this joker's stolen thousands of dollars. Why isn't the police knocking on his door?

Better Question: Why do so many RFDers waste time lowballing me on $10 Cables. But nobody bats an eyebrow and keep silent when someone steals your $225? Aren't we supposed to look out for RFDers? If we pool our efforts then we prevent futures scams!

If there is a pic of this clown post it up, should be like that beyond.ca thread of that fat kid (claw hand) who stole the guy's R32 GTR and claim it to be his.

Sounds a lot like the Ottawa scammer. In one of his posts he states he's from Cornwall coincidentally the same location as some of the past known scammers. And he always seems to be selling LCD monitors and PS3 gear.

I don't know why the admins won't help. It seems rather weird considering they have a BST forum and I figure they would try their best to support their customers (that would be us because we view the ads and generate traffic for this site). Nonetheless, the police needs to have proof or else people can abuse the system and just accuse an innocent individual of fraud. While I understand a "crime" was committed, we still need to work with the system.
