Hi gang,

Any of you done any fall scenery watching lately? I want to drive around on the weekend and get to some nice looking areas. Anywhere within a couple of hours from TO would be fine. Anyone has any recommendations? It doesn't have to be an overnight thing, I just want to take the missus to look at pretty leaves, she loves fall.

Thanks.

I see you are in Mississauga, drive right up Erin Mills Parkway to N. of Steeles when it becomes Mississauga Rd again. It's a scenic drive along the escarpment.

Turn right onto Old Baseline Rd and Stop at the Cheltenham Badlands for a peek

Continue to Hwy 10 and head north, and get a wonderful view of Toronto and more of the escarpment. At Forks of the credit turn left and enjoy the winding road to Belfountain for a couple of nice stores. Head into Erin and continue along 124/24/25 towards Guelph, but head down Hwy 25 towards Milton and take 5th Sideroad to Guelph Line and drive right through the escarpment.

It's a lovely drive with very nice little shops along the way.

Erin Mills Pkwy ends in Mississauga south of the 401, not at Steeles, when it meets up with Mississauga Rd. I agree with you on everything else though. It's a pretty drive.

OP, if you're going this route, go a little north as well and drive through the Hockley Valley near Orangeville. Another very scenic drive.

I think I'll be doing the Images Studio Tour in the Orillia/Blue Mountain area this weekend. You get to combine looking at the fall colours with visiting local artisans and viewing their works.

He's in Mississauga, and if you don't know that by now, well then you shouldn't be driving  Glad you approve

We did the Artisan tour once, and it was a disappointment, likely will be on a long weekend. Might as well hit Glen Williams and save the gas, even if it hits $1.

Erindale Park (main entrance on Dundas just east of Mississauga Rd) is nice. About half an hour north of Mississauga is Belfountain where you can drive the very awesome Forks of the Credit Rd. Belfountain Conservation Area has beautiful hikes. A bit further north of Belfountain near Orangeville is Hockley Valley, which is famous for its fall colours. It's usually packed with people this time of year.
