i'm looking for a very specific Seagate HD for parts. (mine is pulled from a Lacie external enclosure purchased at Futureshop)
if you have one for sale, please send me:
1) P/N number
2) site code
3) firmware number
4) PCB code if possible (this is found on the green circuit board on the bottom of the drive)
in particular, here is the info from my HD:
ST3500830AS
P/N: 9BJ136-100
Firmware 3.AFD
Date Code: 08082
Site Code TK
PCB: 100406540 E C3046P2B
i'm willing to buy you a brand new hard drive in exchange, or we can negotiate a price if you prefer cash.
thanks a lot

Let me guess, the firmware bricked your drive and you want to get another drive to replace the circuit board and hopefully recover your data.

What happened to your drive did it overheat? I have the exact same drive/firmware from a Lacie Porsche enclosure and it died the other day so I'm on the same search. Seatools tells me it exceeded 70 degrees which is probably the cause since I always found it to run extremely hot.

i was stupid. i used the wrong power adapter from another enclosure by accident and the voltage was slightly different. it fried the circuit board! i started to smell smoke coming out of the enclosure!
luckily, someone here on RFD had the exact same drive and i was able to use the circuit board and recover all of my data.
