Hey Everyone,

I'm not sure if I am posting in the right secton,,, but I'm sure someone will be as kind to tell me if I'm not.

Anyhoo... my sister is traveling to London this weekend coming and keeps asking me if I want anything. Can anyone reccommend something I should ask for that is maybe a product that is only available and/or unique to London?

I know as soon as she comes back I'm gonna see something that I would've wanted her to pick up!!!

Thanks so much for everyones help!

Get her to get you Big Ben .... Besides the souvenirs and such, I can't see anything that is exclusively only available in London ...

There's a FCUK store in Toronto, unless of course it carries different stuff than the London store.

Thanks for the replies!! Keep 'em coming!!

Yes there is a FCUK store in TO, I would think that the UK store may carry different stuff and it's expensive so maybe I'll ask for that....hee hee hee

Food wise, London, England is best known for their (was) Fish and Chips and there (now) CURRY!

Don't know how old you are but if you re of age, there is always Pimm's Cup.
Number one is Gin based, 2 is whiskey, 3 is brandy, etc. I like it over ice. Can't get that here (in Ontario).

Maybe some souvenir branded with the Harrods logo? It's hard to think of any non-food related item that is exclusive to London or the UK.

There are the usual souvenir T-shirts with sayings like "My sister went to London and all I got was this lousy T-shirt." :D

Prawn Cocktail flavoured Pringles.

UK has some strange junk food... If you're into that stuff, it's cool to see what can be found!

If you're single and female, what about a chav boyfriend complete with Burberry accessories?

I'm not sure about that as worldwide European-based fashion stores tend to have the same products at the same time for all their stores around the globe. The variance would be on stock (larger stores can carry more products) or specific store-only promotions. H&M for example carries the same stock no matter what country or city you're in.

Anyways, the foods at Marks & Spencer you can't get in Canada anymore.

LOL... or if you are single and male you can likewise get a hoody wearing chav girlfriend who probably had 5 kids by the time she was 16!

anyway, well. im English so of course my taste is different but here are things I always bring back/ miss:

marmite (cheaper there)
Branstons Pickle
milky bars = chocolate
magazines
soccer jerseys
clothes from Topshop/assessorize/new look (fashion and shopping is great in London, if a tad expensive)
hobnobs
malt loaf
battenburg cake
instant horlicks (not the glass jar stuff you get here)
as you see, it is true that food (sweets and cookies) it what we do best.
Ok, Im sure to get ripped for all this stuff that I love but I know most people hate (especially marmite).

You can ask her to get something from Boots. I know they carry them at Shopper's Drug Mart, but Boots brand is very cheap in UK, and their stores are like Tim Horton's in Toronto, EVERYWHERE!

Like a couple others already said is stuff from Marks & Spencer. Everytime my sister-in-law goes home I ask her to get us the chips (they call them crisps) and the mini pancakes from Marks & Spencer. Really good...

It's true, but I love those Prawn Cocktail crisps.. I'll have them almost every day when I go lol

Maybe some cheese puff balls (not cheeto's) or chocolate Flakes, I know you can get the flakes here but they are a little pricey and so yummy. Maybe they're so tasty as I remember visiting the ice cream truck and getting a cone with a flake in it.. mmm

Topshop/Topman is opening its first North American store in NYC tomorrow. They're rolling out a good dozen stores across the continent incl. Toronto in the near future.
