Im not quite sure where to post this, so if this is wrong just let me know.

Im looking for a cheap shipping service (but also of course reliable hopefully) to ship a car from Manitoba -> Toronto, Ontario

Preferably also, the shipper would allow me to like pack the trunk with like a desktop computer and some clothing.

I want to avoid driving the car from Manitoba->Ontario as I cant really afford to take time off of work.

I did a quick google and a lot of places are quoting me in the ranges from $1000-$1300

Not sure if im getting gouged or not, but any one know of any good services?

Just shipped a car from Ottawa to Thunder Bay, and the best price by far was Action Auto Carrier (based in Thunder Bay but they run from Montreal to Calgary, so right through WPG and are often in T.O.).

They were good although there was a delay getting the pickup arranged because of a long weekend, so it was understandable.

However, ALL carriers will say "no personal items" because they cannot be liable for any damage. I would not pack a PC in there unless you don't care if it gets banged around a bit and possibly rendered useless. Some drivers will not load the car on if you have personal effects in there, others will but will ensure you know they are not liable. I had packed a framed tree branch ($40 at Winners) and the OEM Mazda radio in the car I shipped but I told them I didn't care if it got damaged (as long as it wasn't neglect!) and they were OK with that.

Approximately how much were they?

Would you have a website/contact info? I just tried googling and couldnt find nothing

Well the computer i do care a bit about, but for example what if i wanted to throw a suit case full of clothes in the back trunk, or some thing else and i stated i didnt care, would that generally be acceptable? Or is that dependant on a carrier to carrier basis.

I shipped my 300ZX from Vancouver to Alberta about 7 years ago. IIRC it was about $1200 back then. The prices you were quoted seem quite reasonable.

My wife recently shipped her smart car from Vancouver to Toronto for about $1000. She did it through her dealer. I don't know of any who will let you pack your car with personal possessions.

The price was about $650 from Ottawa to TBay. Most other places were charging $1100, but since Action was based in Tbay, they were cheaper since it wasn't an extra stop for them.

A suitcase shouldn't be too bad - just be straight-up with the girl on the phone the first time and tell them it's just clothes and not anything of value or anything breakable. Just know that IF something were to go missing, no carrier would cover it under their insurance, even if they OK'd that you had permission to put it there.

You could always look for someone who wants to visit Toronto. Get them to drive and buy them a one way ticket back to the Peg. That could be as little as $500 including gas for the car, if you get a good price on Westjet.
Just another option.
