I'm looking into buying a new car.It will be my first car.I'm currently a G2 class driver with about 6-8 months away from going for my G.Also im 20 years old and going into college in January.I'm looking into buying an eclipse for the most part or a civic.Wondering what should I expect and what is a typical good deal on any of the above. Also im curious on what my insurance will cost me yearly as a secondary driver.I will be paying for this car in full with cash.Help a novice out :).

For insurance, check www.kanetix.ca, but thats if you are primary driver. Since you are secondary(at least, hopefully legally), then consult with them to see since it can vary.
As for the car, looking at new or used? I know you mentioned 'new' in title but it could be a new 'used' car for a new car owner.

My mom will be the "owner" of the car and have the title to her name so I can save money on the insurance.I dont mind if it's a used car as long as it isnt more than 1k KMs on it,for the most part though I am looking into only an eclipse and civic , as i have other priorities at the moment and cant blow my wad on a car.I have no problem purchasing the car at MSRB , but I would like to save some money just like any other person.

So you have other priorities, yet you're basically going to be buying a new car, and to top that off, a car with basically highest insurance rates out there comparing to more econobox.

Then why not buy a slightly used car and use the rest to pay bills?

Because I have enough funds to purchase my car and pay for my tuition , I said I dont want to blow my wad as in spending it all on just a car for instance a bmw and have nothing else reserved for my daily expenses, hence my reasons for sticking with the lower end cars.I have more than enough saved up and income still at my hands while im working and will still maintain my job while attending college.I'm simply asking for advice or pointers on what types of deals can be made or what a good price range for the cars stated since this will be my first car. Most dealers will probably think "hey what does this kid know I can say the car is worth 26k and cut 2k and he'd think it was a killer deal".
