I was hit in my work parking lot yesterday (public lot). Someone nailed my rear drivers side lwoer portion of the bumper. There's deep scratching, etc.
Obviously because I was in the office I never saw anything, there was no note on my windshield and no one else remembers seeing anything.
My question is, will my insurance company consider this a no-fault claim if I wanted to get the thing taking care of? The bumper pretty much needs to be replaced based on the damaged and deep gouges. BTW, I live in Ontario.

Unfortunately no. That repair will be on your insurance.

Get a quote from a bodyshop.
It might not be that much, compare it to your deductible.
If your deductible is $500, and the repair is ~$700 you might as well pay for the repair.
Not worth making a claim IMO.

It's comprehensive. Your insurance will NOT go up unless you already have many claims.

your "accident" will most likely be a comprehensive claim for vandalism rather than a collision claim so that's some good news.

It will be treated as hit and run and/or vadalisim. It should be no fault. Check with your insurance co

this should be a considered a hit and run incident by insurance. Check your policies to see how you are covered.
On my policy if I report hit and run within 24 hours they waive my deductible. So if you have this, and have a good record with few claims, then it may be worth it as the insurance should pay 100% with $0 deductible. But everyone's insurance is different so check it out first.

Hit and run is covered under collision. I learned that the hard way.

In 99% of the cases, this is called a hit and run but you MUST report it to the police. this is not a comprehensive claim as some may say..if you don't report it to the police and file a claim, it will be a collision claim on the insurance. I would call your broker just to confirm, but I bet I'm bang on the money bro....

Got off the phone with my broker. She said that if I file a police report, it will be deductable free. If it's later then 24 hours, I'll have to pay it ($500). She said it would be a comprehensive claim.

Its an unfortunate thing, but if i were you i would just suck it up and pay for it myself. Its not worth it to pay premiums on insurance with claims.
