Hi,
My Court date for a traffic ticket is in two weeks and i just learnt that I can request for a disclosure.
Is it too late to ask for one now?
Thanks!

You can ask for disclosure and when you arrive in court, you could tell them if you received it or not. Legally, you have the right to obtain disclosure so that you can assemble a defense strategy.
Just be prepared to answer the Judge why you didn't ask for it earlier. This is a perfect example of getting legal advice ASAP then waiting 2 weeks before the court date.

I know...i didnt think it was such a big deal until I started researching on this.
So if I ask for a disclosure now and dont get it on time, I can get the court date rescheduled right?

How many months has it been since the charge was laid to the court date?

It is a traffic ticket. Just what do you expect from this "disclosure"? This is not a criminal trial where the prosecutor has gathered evidence of your guilt. The disclosure will be the Officer observed you doing something illegal. You got a ticket...I think you know that by now :cheesygri

The officer claims I did something illegal so I should see what proof he has other than his observation. I want to fight this till the end! Theres nothing to loose right?

Assuming the judge likes your reason for filing at such a late date - yes.

You will not be able to obtain disclosure by the time the trial starts. The prosecution will offer to give you disclosure right then and there, but good luck deciphering the officer's notes, lol.
