Hi all,

My radio in my Cavalier coupe 1998 just died, well no more sound from the radio nor from the casette player(yeah I know). So I hooked one of my car speaker to my tv and it worked just fine. So I guess it's time for a new head unit. I need something very basic, I only want the radio and an aux input (for my Ipod :)). So I looked at FS and they got some units under $100 with aux input.

Self install is not an option for me since I need to completely remove the dash and I have no experience at all into this. So I was wondering if it would be a better deal to buy the unit with a rebate of $40 or to wait till they have a free installation promo?

Also, since the unit is DIN size and my cavalier seem to be din and a half, I guess I'll need some sort of adaptor, how much this cost?

Thanks for you inputs guys.

You can check BB and FS, some times they have free install specials running. Knowing the layout of 98 J-body dash, I doubt even the future shop kids would screw it up. It's a simple 4-way speaker setup.

Good if they are able to do it easily. But strangely my radio played today, but the sound is choppy (it starts and stop) So the unit is not totally died. I want an aux input anyway, so I'll wait t'il the next promos.
