I have decided to keep my 2004 Impala for another year. Needs tires and I hear a clicking noise when I am turning. Not sure the tires are causing the problem and wonder if it is suspension problem.
I have no desire to go to Chevy dealer who will find numerous problems and for sure tell me the sky is falling and that I need a complete front end or something. Some dealers are probably okay but they are expensive.
Does anyone know a small mechanic shop in the far east end of Scarborough or Pickering. I am located Lawrence/Kingston Rd area.

I would highly recommend Dan of Dan's auto service centre at island rd and east avenue. He is located just east of Port Union and Lawrence and I can attest to his quality, correct service at good prices - cash discount available.
He doesn't fix what isn't wrong - always busy enough that he doesn't need to look for the work - i think a sign of a great mechanic who people trust. That being said this could be good and bad, but he looks whatever you ask him to - so if you're in tune with your car and bring it to him at the sign of a foreign sound or problem he will quickly and accurately assess the problem, also letting you know if he thinks its worth it or not to replace, or possibly get a used part.
Good luck and let me know if you need further information! He is my mechanic since I live close by, and has served me for about 2 years, about as long as I've had my car. My dad has used him with his cars before this.
His # is 416.284.8180

We've gone to Mark for about 2 years, he services our 1998 Gr. Voyager and it still runs really well. Also he only fixes what absolutely needs to be done and only suggests fixes but does not force or bs you with scare tactics etc. that you get at dealerships & Active Green Ross
Mazmark Auto

15 Crockford Blvd
Scarborough, ON , M1L4J9, Mark is the owner, less expensive however dosent accept credit cards
We also have gone to Reline
(416) 285-9257
1110 Birchmount Rd
Scarborough, ON , M1K5G7, Rob is the owner this place accepts credit cards but is a little more expensive
For body work we go to
Busch Motors, same plaza as Reline

(see above), Dave is absolutely amazing, he is a little more expensive than the rest for body work however his work is impecable and he can fix anything scratches, hail damage, dents etc, etc, etc. Our 98' voyager still looks new with no rust whatsoever, we also get it Krown'ed every year

Thanks for all the leads. The first one Dan's auto is 5 minutes away and by far the closest. Stopped in and talked to him today. Busy garage. He took my car around the block and couldn't spot anything that I needed to worry about but will take it in early morning one day when he isn't so busy. He will put it up and have a look at the suspension and linkage.
Way more impressed than a dealership, where the guy taking your order works on commission based on the work you get done.
