If I want to buy a Wii, can I use all my SDM points to pay for it and get it for free? or is there a catch?

The higherest you can redeem is $200, and that's on a special redemption event. If you go on a ordinary day, the highest you can redeem is $150.

So, if Wii costs $269, you'll have to pay the difference of $69 + the full taxes (i.e. 13% on $269, NOT only on $69).

Although you may have 300,000 points the most you can redeem in one transaction is 75,000. ($150.00)

However on a bonus redemption day (which happens to be today) you can redeem 75,000 pts for $200.00 instead of $150.00.

The only way you'll ever get anything free by redeeming points is if there is a "buy with points" promotion on the item you want.

When you redeem points you ALWAYS have to pay the sales tax regardless of how many points you've redeemed.

So if you want to purchase a Wii today by redeeming points (75,000) you will save $200.00 off of the $269.00 price but you will pay taxes on the Full $269.00.

If you wait til Monday to redeem 75,000 pts for a Wii you'll get $150.00 off of the $269.00 price.
