I have worked for many security places in my past, lots of security jobs are condo's, malls, working for GM as a front gate guard Etc ETC, lots of Security jobs will get you licensed for working for them, sometimes there's a fee and sometimes the company will cover it. Pay rates in Oshawa for a security guard very on the site you work at. For Example, If I worked at the Eaton's Center i could make 10-12/hr then on other site i could only make 9.50/hr. It all depends on how the company handles the pay.
Any more Questions just ask!

thanks for the quick responce.
a couple of more questions, what is a mobile officer? and class 5 drivers licence (needed for mobile patrol)?
Also i see a lot of security jobs offering $16/hr. what kind of job is that and can i find a job for $15-17/hr, anything but nightclub security.
i dont have a problem working late shift.

you can apply through l security and investigative services website um.. just google for ontario private security. the cost for guard license is $80.
most of the time, it is the in-house security companies that pay 14+ . there are some exceptions like the ryerson site intercon holds. the wor you do varies between sites.

If you have a drivers license you could work as a mobile security guard... They typically are the highest on the pay scale.
they basically drive around checking up on sites that dont have really need a security guard to be present at all times... eg. parking lot or warehouse. You also provide back up to security guards that work on sites by them selves.

Just wondering guys,
what type of Security work has the most potential risk for conflicts and violent situations??
Retail? Condo? Mall? Co-op housing patrols?
Concerts/Events?
Not sure if Bouncer or Doorman would be under the same catagory as "Security" though.
If so, I'd figure these two environments would be at the top of the list for the most incidents?
