I live in toronto and want to purchace a nice surround sound for my home but canadian prices are just rediculous.
I was wondering if there is a depot of some sort that i can have things delivered to then go pick them up so i can avoid shipping charges.
Thanks.

Used this for the first time earlier this week and it worked great. Just a few minutes from Queenston-Lewiston bridge. Do a search for other threads on this subject. There's lot's of good info in them.

I use US address also. A nice thing about them is you actually use their addy instead of it reading like a PO box. Some companies refuse to ship to PO boxes, but this way you get around that.
So instead of it being
RFD user
PO box 123
3909 Witmer Road.
Niagara Falls. NY 14305
it's just

The only issue you might have is you need to fill out a permission slip for them to accept packages in your name. But being up in Toronto you may be able to talk to them and do it by fax or email.

some RFDer recommended this to me in the past... they charge $6.95/package. Haven't tried it myself yet.

What are you trying to buy? You know there are huge margins on all this stuff? You CAN negotiate and get good deals in Canada. Importing from the USA also gives you no warranty.

CBI is good...have a friend who used them to have his tires shipped there. They charged a flat rate.

These guys are great; I have used them in the past, as has my bro-in-law. They offer you a suite box, not a PO box, so that FedEx and UPS WILL ship to them. Plus their rates are great, especially if you plan on ordering stuff over a period of time.
Only thing, you must go in to fill out some paper work. You can't do it over the phone or fax, as it has something to do with US postal laws.

I use CBI for all my shipping.
