This was just too ridiculous that I have to post it.

My Dad had a Unused Oil Filter, he sold his Corolla and ask me if I can get a refund. It's been a long time so he doesn't have the receipt.

I had to drop by Nissan so I figure I'd stop by and I couldn't believe they would give a refund on a $6.99 Oil Filter, the Box has Toyota all over it. What's worst was they deduct 20% too even with the receipt.

I was told I may be trying to profit on this. It was just a joke. Acura, Mazda understood that my situation and happily gave me my money back.

If you have a Toyota Corolla and are willing to pick it up in Brampton, you can have it for FREE. I'll get the part number later.

Geez, where have you been? No receipt, no refund.
Besides, how old was the filter? They know by part number, if it was a year or two old, why should they take it back. Who knows what you did with it? Filled it up with metal shavings?
I am not surprised they would not take it back, actually LMAO that you even tried to return an old filter.

I'm at a lost for words. This is quite possibly one of the dumbest things I have read on RFD.

I'm glad they didn't take back the part. A lot of potential damage to someones car could occur if they took back the part (and IF someone purposely sabotaged it). Props to you for trying to get back your money though, but in this case I think the dealership had the right judgement call.

Mate, your post was just too ridiculous. Having something for 'a long time so he doesn't have the receipt', then attempting to get a refund - not because the item is defective but because it is no longer needed...then getting all upset because the expected refund didn't materialise?

For someone with 5000+ posts to RFD, you have to be kidding.

It goes without saying that the retailer is under no obligation to even consider a return of any kind, be it exchange or refund. Your 'I deserve a refund no matter what the situation' attitude is exactly why retailers are changing their policies to be less liberal.

Sheesh!

I make a point of reading 1-star threads because they always wind up being funny. Old oil filter + no receipt + expected money-back from a dealership = laughs. perfect friday thread!

At least the LMAO part of the thread title is correct (although not how the OP intended it)

The original post makes no sense. Why present a Toyota filter at Nissan? If Acura and Mazda (huh?) both gave you back money for one filter (huh?), why does the OP have one to give away for free? Forget the miracle of the loaves and the fishes, if there's a religion where one car part becomes several, sign me up!
