CC is selling the 50PZ80 for $2199, Future Shop has them for $2499

I am also waiting to buy this tv, but find the price still high. I was hoping to get it for closer to 1K and have my fingers crossed future or bb puts it on sale soon.

Although after reading the reviews about how 720p and 1080p look identical at this size, as well as the fact that the PX apparently shows standard def better, I am not sure whether the PZ is worth the extra cash.

Personally for 42", I would just go with the PX and save a bunch of cash.. 1080p is more helpful at the bigger sized screens which need the higher res due to the increased real estate it needs to fill with pixels

Actually just picked one of these up from Costco. So far, nice set. Specs are same as the pz80 except bezel is slightly narrower, dark grey instead of glossy black and costco model has a pc input. So far, good deal with their 90day return policy and 2yr warranty. This tv was very hard to find. With the sale price of 1999$ most costco's had sold out. Also got the new pinnacle stand (which I'm anxiously awaiting to put together tonight) ;)

Depends how close you plan on sitting. After seeing a 50px80, i soon realized that 8ft was too close since I was seeing screen door effect. pz80 has smaller pixels and therefore can sit closer without issue.
