When I have ordered from these stores in the past some packages have been left right on my door. Its really frustrating when you make a big purchase such as a desktop or laptop and the driver just leaves it on your doorstep. I always wondered what would happen in the scenario where someone just walked by and stole the package. Who would be responsible for it? :confused:

All my experiences have been with FS;

- DSLR Camera + memory cards - delivered to the door - no one was home so they left it in the mailbox (at the bottom they usually have large compartments for packages)
- External HD - left in the mailbox
- GFs computer was delivered but as no one was home they took it to the nearest CP office and she had to pick it up.

You would think this would be the standard way of delivering across all companies. Where they get the logic to leave a package in a mailbox or in front of the door I have no idea. It would be easier for everyone to just leave a note saying they attempted delivery and that package can be picked up or you can call to reschedule delivery.

Well if a signature is required and you are not there to sign, then they really have no proof that they delivered the package now do they.

No signature = you are protected by your CC company because you can always do a charge back due to the fact you never actually received the product. Its up to the store to actually prove they gave you the product. Leaving it at your door != giving you the product.

With Staples (only experience of delivery with no one home outta the 3), they phone you (contact number) and tell you there are there, when can you be home, etc and then they come back at the time block you agreed to (sometime a bit late). Of course this probably varies by area.
