Individuals here are constantly looking for Amazon and Chapters coupons. Well, here are a few:

Amazon Coupons
1. Code:MAPSUMMERNEW (for NEW CUSTOMERS only)
Amount:10$ off 50$ (First posted by jocyyu?)
Expires: July 31st.

2. Katharyna has pointed out than on specially marked bottles of Crush and Canada Dry soda, you can get a $5 coupon for Amazon.ca. Thanks!

This has been mentioned by YLSF and others:
'For people that don't know, if you are an existing customer of you can refer a new customer (that hasn't used any Amazon website (i.e. .ca/ .com / .uk, etc) and both parties get a $10 off coupon!.'
Info here:
http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/12843171/ref=br_bx_1_c_2_0/702-2939214-4910462

Each coupon can only be used ONCE per account. THEY CANNOT BE STACKED.

Chapters Coupons
No current valid Chapters coupons.

Coupons can only be used once per account. No stacking.

NOTE: Chapters factors in the coupon code BEFORE it determines whether you are eligible for free shipping. Amazon factors in the coupon code AFTER it determines whether you are eligible for free shipping. Hence, it is possible to have an order at Amazon that is $35 plus tax, and ships for free.

This thread will be updated regularly as I become informed of new coupons. If you know of coupons not listed here, please post them.

RFD can be a killer source of information and with our pooled knowledge, everyone can benefit. :)

Please post and bump this thread if you have a few seconds free. It helps to keep it visible. There are more posts in this forum lately and this thread tends to get buried. Thanks!

Thanks Pauline! The idea here is to have a thread that is constantly visible so coupon seekers can find it.

Which is logical. However, for whatever reason, the mods are not allowed post certain coupons on the Coupons page of RFD. These 2 Amazon.ca coupons are among those. (I have already asked the mods to post them on the Coupons Page, and they cannot. The reason why I do not know (although I have a hunch ;) ), but you'll have to ask one of them.) Hence, I have created this 'unofficial' Amazon.ca coupon thread to keep these coupons visible for those who need them.

To others who have Chapters.ca or Amazon.ca coupons, please post them here, and I will add them to the top of this page.

Anybody know if its possible to use a coupon after you've ordered and paid for something?
I looked for coupons the other day and didn't find any, so I placed an order anyway. Now there's these!

Kurtz7834
Feb 7th, 2004, 10:10 AM
No, it's not, unfortunately. You'll have to cancel the order and reorder the item to do this. And if the item has been shipped and billed, obviously you can't cancel the order.

I'm not sure if Amazon or Chapters will match prices, I've never tried it. They usually have prices that are fairly similar to each other on new releases, but I've noticed big discrepancies elsewhere.

All I can advise here is to ask customer service.

I received this in an e-mail newsletter from Travelocity:

And now, Travelocity customers can save an additional $5 off Amazon.ca's everyday great prices. Redeeming this offer is easy. Visit www.amazon.ca/travelocity and add the items you want to your Shopping Cart. During checkout simply enter code: MAPBESTDEALS in the space provided on the payment page. Click the "Apply" button. You're done!

This offer expires April 3, 2004. FREE shipping available for orders over $39.

I found the same book on both sites but Chapters.ca is way more expensive (more than $20). Is there a way I can PM Amazon.ca so I can buy it at Chapters.ca at least the same price and use the $10 coupon (instead of the $5 from Amazon.ca)?

Thanks.

As I said earlier in this thread, I don't know if one of them will PM the other, I don't think it's an official policy. I've never tried it. You'll have to ask their customer service if they will match prices.

This is also a place to look for Amazon coupons - there must be something about them (threats etc?) because the official site for Goldfishlegs wont host them either:

I don't see what the big problem is. These $5 coupons bring customers to the Amazon.ca site, and induce people to buy stuff. I know I feel an 'urgency' to use up the $5 coupons before they expire, and Amazon.ca makes more money off of me as a result. And $5 isn't a huge amount, especially on larger orders. My point is, I spend more at Amazon.ca as a result of these $5 coupons being available, otherwise I would probably buy DVDs and other items from Futureshop.ca or another retailer, which will ship for free with any purchase amount.

Maybe it would also be helpful to add whether or not the coupons are applied before or after the free $39 shipping offer. One does before and the other does after, but I can never remember which is which.

The Chapters 10 off 40 coupons are better than the $5 off anything at Amazon though.

Chapters.ca factors in the coupon code BEFORE it determines whether you are eligible for free shipping.

Amazon.ca factors in the coupon code AFTER it determines whether you are eligible for free shipping. Hence, it is possible to have an order at Amazon.ca that is $35 plus tax, and ships for free.

While the Chapters.ca coupons are of a larger amount, Amazon.ca holds its own due to better prices, better selection, better site organization and vastly better customer service. Case in point: at Amazon.ca you can cancel an order in realtime, as long as it is not near shipping status, whereas at Chapters.ca you have to email them, and they take a week to respond and tell you whether your order has been cancelled or not. Amazon.ca also has pictures of the items for sale and customer reviews. Chapters.ca would benefit from such features.

Chapters/Indigo actually tried to have Amazon.ca blocked from entering Canada to 'retain Canadian influence in booksellers' or something to that effect. Obviously, this was completely greedy and self serving and would not have benefitted consumers at all. We enjoy good prices and free shipping these days due to the competition between the two.

However, I still sometimes shop at Chapters.ca when I can get a good deal with the coupon.

you will never ever get a better deal at chapters. don't ever buy anything from them!!! amazon is still cheaper even with the $10 at chapters, and the irewards program (which you have to pay for every year).

buy everything from amazon that you can, since they are the cheapest. compare the prices yourself. reason: amazon doesn't have stores so they have lower overhead expenses.

Generally true.

However, where you can get a better deal at Chapters.ca is:
-If they have the same price as Amazon.ca on an item and you can use the $10 off Chapters.ca coupon, rather than the $5 off Amazon.ca one
-Chapters.ca has a good section of clearance books for under $10

But generally, Amazon.ca is the way to go, agreed.

FYI....you can use MAPBESTDEALS several times....I just placed 4 separate orders and every time it automatically applied the "MAPBESTDEALS" coupon. The first time I used the coupon, i have to manually type in the coupon, but every order thereafter, it automatically applied the coupon.

As for the other amazon.ca coupon, you only can use it once per amazon.ca account.

Anywayz, Saturday evening bump!!!

Interesting. This is not working for me though. I think Amazon sometimes has glitches in their system. Before Christmas, every order I placed was getting an automatic $5 discount too, and then it stopped shortly afterwards. I have used the MAPBESTDEALS coupon, and I am not getting any such automatic discount. I know what you're talking about though, as I had it happen to me months ago.

If someone could isolate this and figure out how it works, it could save everyone a lot of money, until Amazon notices it and fixes it, at least.

Yeah, i know about the glitches and they are good in honouring them as well...

I remember back in November/December, I bought lots of video games and video game accessories, and there was no tax whatsoever. It was sweet. 15% off and a $5 coupon made it a good deal. The "no tax" fiasco on the video game department was truly a glitch cuz it was not advertised anywhere else and the next day, they fixed the glitch (but not before i placed several orders). This was only occuring in the video games department. All other departments still had their usual gst/pst added on.

Yeah, I got in on the no tax thing for videogames. Ordered Viewtiful Joe. :) It seemed to last a long time, at least a couple of weeks. The thing was, it didn't work all the time. Sometimes you would go to buy a game and tax was added on, then when you restarted your browser and tried to order the same thing, tax was gone. It seemed very random and hit or miss. Other RFDers were reporting that sometimes it worked, other times it didn't.

I haven't tried to order a game in a few months, so I have no idea if that 'No tax' glitch still haunts them. I'd imagine it no longer works.

I've got a Hot Deal for you Amazon.ca shoppers.

I have to give credit to psmk for posting this in the Hot Deals section. See his thread:
http://www.redflagdeals.net/forums/index.p...=ST&f=1&t=72602 (http://www.redflagdeals.net/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=72602)

Specially Marked Packages of Celestial Seasonings Tea have a coupon for $5 off any Amazon.ca order over $30!

As was said, this tea is on sale for $1.65 at Loblaws (in Ontario, at least) this week. It is regularly about $3.40.

There are no restrictions on the coupon, no 'one per family or customer etc.' You can use as many of these $5 coupons as you want, but only 1 per order, you can't stack them.

Only buy boxes with the Amazon.ca sticker on them, those are the only boxes with coupons. I can confirm that the coupons expire on 2004/12/31.

I just bought a bunch at Loblaws here in Toronto. For frequent Amazon.ca shoppers, this is a hot deal, assuming you will use the coupons you're saving a bit of money and getting the tea for free. Each coupon is ONE TIME USE, so buy as many tea boxes as you need coupons.

Northern Exposure is now $41 at Amazon.ca, and $35 at Chapters.ca. The Chapters price seems to be the best current one. As others have said, Amazon.ca has raised the price of the Police Academy set to $52. For those that got in on the $13.99 price though, it looks like they will honour it. Let's keep our fingers crossed. For those that missed this, I'll bet RFD is going to be flooded with cheap Police Academy sets for sale in mid April.

For old school gaming fans, a Mega Man collection (all the old games) is coming out for the Gamecube at the end of May. Sells for $39.99, a reasonable price, especially if you use a coupon. Should be fun. I would love to see the old Super Mario Games rereleased on the Gamecube. And Castlevania. :) But I digress.

Believe it or not I have NEVER order from Amazon.ca before. Today I decided I was going to take the leap since they had a CD there that I have never seen in a local store before, and Chapters wants 10$ more. Anyway, I knew I had seen the $5.00 off your first order icon pop up before (As I am sure many are aware of already).. But when I clicked on it, it actually said they would send me a $10.00 e-certiifcate for registering. I had to give my address, credit card #, etc. but it is a decent deal (especially since my order will not qualify for free shipping.. it says you can't combine with other offers, I am not sure if the "Free shipping" is consider another offer)...

So if your wife/husband, sister/brother, friend, etc.,etc. hasn't registered on the site yet it might be a good deal for some..

[/b][/quote]
I agree with all that's said but find that Chapters often has stuff amazon has out of stock but I guess vice versa at times. Chapters tends to ship faster, well in my opinion.

Kurtz7834
Apr 11th, 2004, 12:35 PM
Southnam, I find the opposite, that Amazon.ca ships faster than Chapters. I guess it depends on the item though.

Yep, it's kinda weird....I ordered a couple of books from chapters and both of them got shipped separately, but on the same day. One book arrived within a couple of days and the other book arrived in about 2-3 weeks (although, they were shipped on the same day).

Anywayz, I called chapters inquiring y it is taking so long for the second book and after checking my order, they told me that the second book was shipped from their US warehouse, while the first book was shipped from their Canadian warehouse. I was surprised that they had a US warehouse.

It really depends on items. Some items are shipped faster by amazon and some items are shipped faster by chapters.

As was said earlier in this thread, Amazon.ca and Chapters.ca won't let the RFD mods post these codes in the coupon section. If they could, this thread wouldn't be necessary.

I must admit that I don't understand the logic from the Amazon and Chapters point of view though, as these $5 coupons encourage people to make a purchase they might not otherwise. And it's not like $5 is a huge amount of lost revenue.

Tsukagi
Apr 25th, 2004, 01:21 PM

Assuming all those people are going to order regardless of the coupon, then true.

But if the coupon induces 500 people to make a $30 order, you've got $15,000 in revenue. Prices are similar enough to other retailers that the extra $5 off will often induce me to buy from Amazon.ca, rather than say DVDSoon or Futureshop.

Plus, each coupon can only be used once per account. It's not like the same people can use them for every order.

Anyways, that's up to Amazon.ca. RFDers will continue to use and enjoy these coupons for as long as they are released.

generally the coupons for amazon cannot be stacked. There's almost always a disclaimer on the page that says 'cannot be combined with any other offer or discount' Just break you order into small amounts if you can then apply separate coupons to each amount. don't forget to maintain 39$ for the free shipping. If your purchase is a single large item then just use the largest dollar value coupon.

Guys, THANKS for all the bumps. :) Keep them coming whenever you have time.

To add to what was posted earlier, no Amazon.ca coupon can be stacked. It's best to split orders into amounts of around $40, to get the free shipping and then apply the $5 coupon.

If you're out of coupons and are a tea drinker, look into the Celestial Seasonings tea deal. Assuming you're going to use the $5 coupons, the tea is free, and you'll get around $1.75 off your order (regular price of tea is around $4 with tax.) The tea is great too. :) I picked up several boxes when this tea went on sale for $1.60 a couple of months ago.

Thanks for the bumps everyone.

There is a bit of a 'drought' of new coupons as of late. We haven't seen a new Chapters coupon in ages.

Both Amazon.ca and Chapters.ca now offer a $10 gift certificate if you refer someone to open a new account. Nice, but too much work, unless you already know someone who's opening one.

I have thought about posting the DVDSoon coupons, but I don't think they're the hottest deals. For the April one, you had to spend over $100 to save $4.

So if you can't stack coupons, does this mean referral coupons cannot be stacked? ie. we should only refer one per purchase?

Kurtz7834
May 30th, 2004, 11:30 AM
No Amazon.ca or Chapters coupons can be stacked. For each person you refer in the referral deal, you get a coupon code which you can use later. You can only use one coupon code at a time.

So if you're only planning on making one purchase, only bother referring one person. If you need a bunch of coupons for a bunch of purchases, then refer 5 people, etc.

The referral thing is nice but too much work to keep doing, unless you know people who want to open Amazon.ca accounts.

For those that are looking to buy Finding Nemo, you can get it for $18.98 at DVDSoon.

DVDsoon is selling it for $23.98, and entering 'disneypixar' at checkout will save you another $5. Shipping is free.

Worth a look.

I don't know if this is the best post to ask my question, but I might as well.

I used the MAPMDAYCPNEW (15$ on 99$) coupon to order two DVDs. I just cancelled one of the two items, which brings my subtotal under the minimum of 99$. The coupon still remains on the statement. Is there any chance they might notice if when they ship the DVDs, or have I just bypassed the system? :D

You'll probably get away with this, if I had to guess. No guarantees though.

They are pretty busy at Amazon and not the most organized, and the CSRs have better things to do than look for stuff like this.

Hi,

Amazon does not allow site owners to put coupon codes that being with MAPXXXXXXXX or "restricted" coupons along with their affiliate links. (I received an email from them once.)

If the coupons are posted by forum members, then it's OK, according to Amazon.

The codes are not on the coupon page because the mods cannot post them there for legal reasons.

You don't have to wade through 13 pages of this thread looking for codes.

Any valid code that I know about is listed on Page 1 at the beginning of this thread. I update it as coupons expire or I get new ones. RFD members (not me) post these coupons and contribute them, I just organized them in a list. Thanks to Dazog in particular who has posted a few coupons lately.

:) Fair enough.

As for 'stickying', that's up to the mods to do. I think they are wary of doing that due to pressure from Amazon though. It's the same reason why these coupons aren't on the coupons page.

About the AirMiles website... I have another suggestion. If some of you understand french the least bit and live in Canada, there is a website that offers returns in money instead of points. I never really believes in those anyways, and you always have to buy loads before getting anything back.

On this website i'm talking about, you get 4% back on your purchases, and once you've accumulated 40$ (I thinK?) they send you a check. The only thing you have to do is to use the email the site is going to give you (yourname@achatclub.ca) and very importantly, use the website to click on the link for Amazon, Chapters and others.

Referals can pay as well, so if anyone goes on it, i'd appreciate a referral :D

although this isn't really a coupon question per se, but for the $10 off for NEW registrations... how do they verify that you have indeed signed up for an account at Amazon already? Is it by the address linked to the credit card that they make you submit?

Because I HAD signed up for an amazon.com account years ago to put together a wishlist but never bought anything. I think I used a not-complete address (or perhaps not completely truthful address) that a year ago, I edited to make it my real address.
So I guess b/c of that, all my "new registrations" have been rejected for the GC.

Now, what if my mom, with her credit card, signs up? We have the same address so will that not let me get a $10 GC? Before, I used my own credit card, so I was hoping that with a new credit card and name, I can get this $10 .

For anyone interested I just got a new Barnes & Noble (USA) coupon in the mail:

FLTXTBN $10 off on a purchase of $99 or greater. Expiry date unknown.

The coupon seemed to be intended for the purchase of new and used textbooks as part of a promotion but I used it on some general fiction books with no problem.

Note that BN is US based and they charge shipping to Canada (no free shipping to Canada) AND GST, but they take care of the border crossing so that books are delivered to your door with no further charges.

Grrrr. I wanted to order Without a trace at Chapters.ca because of the 10$ coupon but they didn't have any pre-order rebate at all so I wrote them an email. In the meanwhile, Amazon.ca just decreased their 30% to 20% :(

Same thing happened for Planet of the Apes, its back to 47,xx$. I should stop waiting for better deals!!! :/

I have a question for those who follow this kinda stuff : how long before does Chapters.ca have a pre-order title on sale? On Amazon.ca, it goes up to nov-dec for titles like «24», who are already at their usual 30% off, whereas Chapters.ca aren't even listing them yet!

Now, that is what I call increasing your post count. I have a valid reason to bump this thread, as it had disappeared off the first page and onto the second. EN4 on the other hand pretty much bumped a thread that was already at the top. Rules about thread bumping should be more strictly enforced.

As a side note, this thread should become a sticky to ensure the coupons will be easy to find.

I respectfully disagree.

Just because this thread is still on the first page shouldn't preclude someone from bumping it. It doesn't hurt to bring it back to the top, since one never knows when the next "bump"er will come along and whether an early bump will help keep it on the first page.

That being said, 5 minutes is a pretty short wait for bumping a thread in one of the quieter fora. No harm done, though.

There are rules for bumping threads (twice per individual in a 24 hour period I believe, but that's more relevant in the BST forum). No rules broken here.

Making this thread a sticky has been discussed before, and there were vague insinuations that amazon and chapters would not be happy with redflagdeals if it endorsed the use of the coupons that way by stickying the thread (but also wouldn't mind if it were a regular thread that just didn't die).

Kurtz7834
Sep 13th, 2004, 09:44 AM
Everyone can bump this thread as often as they want. I am not promoting myself here and have nothing to gain from it being bumped, this thread is for the benefit of all RFD members. If people want to increase their post count, I dont see a big problem, bumping this thread is far better than cluttering up Hot Deals or Off Topic with random nonsense. I don't think the mods would care as this thread doesn't get more than 5 posts per day usually.

The purpose of the 'bump' rule is to prevent people with For Sale threads from constantly bumping it to stay visible, promote their sale and monopolize the buy/sell forum. This is why only 2 bumps a day per user is allowed.

As for making this thread a 'sticky', I don't think Amazon.ca and Chapters want the mods to do that. That's fine, as long as people bump this thread regularly, it stays visible. I don't always have the time to bump it, so I really want to thank those who take the time to post and bump this thread to the top. :)

Yes, you can always 'forget' your password and create a new account to get another $10 Chapters coupon. Just use a different email address to register and change a letter or two in your billing address.

But don't create more than 2 accounts, if you abuse this both Amazon and Chapters will cancel the extra accounts, so I've heard.

and if you go totally overboard and create multiple accounts amazon will ban you entirely (including other world wide amazon sites).

Not sure why they aren't working, but keep in mind:

1. Type the coupon EXACTLY as it is shown
2. You can only use each coupon code ONCE
3. You can't combine coupons
4. Some coupons need a min. purchase of $30

If this doesn't help, you need to contact Amazon Customer service with more details and they could help you more.

Thanks for the info. I don't know much about this show but I'll read up on it.

Not sure if this deal is still on, but Wal Mart had Season 1 of the Shield for $28 a week or two ago. It's worth picking up at that price.

Not only is The Wire written by David Simon (who's book was turned into HOMICIDE), it also features several actors from the show - and is directed (at least some eps) by Clark Johnson - who also directs eps of The Shield. I bought The Shield the day it came out. It was a great deal even at full price. Season 3 of The shield has been confirmed too.

I just recently bought something from .com (not available on the .ca site). It would've been nice to have a coupon, especially since there's no free shipping.

There are no Amazon.com coupons. They stopped giving out discount coupons a couple years ago. I think it kind of corresponded to the introduction of the free shipping thing. And they do give a slightly larger discount than the Canadian site on some individual items (maybe 32% vs 30% here). They only have so much margin to play with.

I decided to go with dvdsoon.com for my ROTR & Mary Poppins DVD's coming out in December. Chapters was charging $68, Amazon was $64 and dvdsoon was $56. OK, some points:

1. The Chapters coupon link is already posted.
2. The RFD affiliate link Ryan posted does not work right now (perhaps temporarily) so I won't be posting it.
3. I will not be posting the Amazon.ca new customers coupon because if you're reading this thread, it's highly unlikely that you're a new customer. Why post coupons that under 5% of RFDers can use, it just creates confusion.
4. Katharyna, the tea is roughly $3.50 regular price but I got a bunch on sale for $1.50 at Loblaws some time ago.

You mean it's inside the white bag that holds the tea? Or do you mean the coupon is printed inside one of the folds of the box and you had to to disassemble the box to see the coupon?

This thread is one of my most valued threads. You have to take the time to actually READ the thread. If you had done that you would know the Amazon coupons are expired and the FS bucks are One Time Use, so unless you are quick, you must go buy your own french fries. First of all you brain dead idiot, i've read the thread and went through the 40 pages of it ok. I understood the coupons are dead, but them some a**hole comes on and claims he used the coupon 4 times to order stuff the day the post comes up. so get your facts right. i know the fs bucks are one time use, you third class scaff, and its got nothing to do with french fries, you can buy mcflurrys, large drinks, and even hash browns to get the codes: but you completely missed the point. i was merely observing the fact that all the codes on this thread did not work, thats the bottom line. so get off your pedestol and crawl back into your hole

What's with the whinging from the pommie?

first of all thats not rocket science. every1 know's the $10 coupon works, because its for first time buyers, it does exactly what its supposed to do. but let me bring you up to speed Einstein, its the $5 coupon codes that the whole debate is around. hopefully some valid codes will surface and lets hope that some leechers don't abuse them and selfishly place 10 orders for cheap xbox gear and ruin it for the rest of us in order to make a quick buck on ebay.

When I signed up with Amazon, they never gave me the $10 code, even though it was a couple months ago...so thanks!
I signed-up my wife's email account a few days ago. I waited 2 days and there was no coupon code. I then went to their web-site and sent an email to customer support wondering what happened to the coupon and pointed them to the web-site where I signed up (the "bylo" site). My wife got a response from their CSR which said that that promo actually expired last August but since my wife's circumstances are unique (I guess that's their way of saying "we forgot to remove that $10 promo sign-up page"), the CSR gave me a $10 off coupon which expires June of next year. Pretty nice of Amazon.

I understand what you mean about people on this forum killing the goose that laid the golden egg. Eventually, companies will no longer find it profitable to offer free shipping on items, or single use coupons, or price matching. I won't even place an order with Futureshop if my total comes up under $30.

I'd also like to add that you could use a little bit of an attitude readjustment there mate. I can't believe anybody is getting this worked up over $5 of savings from Amazon. Even more absurd is the attitude that they are somehow entitled to recieve a $5 coupon even if one is not available. Suck it up now, or wait until another working coupon is available.

First of all you fourth class git, i understand completely that you're talking out of your backside. if you actually went through the whole thread: it explicitly states that a guy had some luck using the expired coupons, infact this individual placed several orders using the same coupon. New coupons have been issued you freak: so you're lying again, for telus users, visa card holders, etc. but because a**holes like you have been leeching this site for months now these companies have become wise and are not honoring them. I went to my local loblaws you freak and that tea isn't even there. I don't need a third class welfare bum who hasn't even got an education or a professional degree to teach me english. so f**k off, get a life you loser... i didn't even ask for your opinion you reject. don't bother replying to my thread and shut your trap. your're as thick as a brick!!! ya beauty!!

Hey, to you all you newbies mad at Amazon.ca: Want a free $10 GC?

Just preorder one or two items with a release date after around mid December. DVD sets and games are always good. When you get your free $10 GC in the email, likely around early December, just cancel your order. You won't be charged as the products won't have shipped, and you'll get a free $10 GC. Amazon states that the free $10 GC will be sent two to three weeks after Nov. 25. Then order whatever you want using your $10 GC.

Does anyone have a 1-800 number for Amazon.ca support.

I want to clarify that the $10 GC for $75 order means that your order has to SHIP BEFORE NOVEMBER 25 to qualify.

My concern is that a pre-order like The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King: Special Extended Edition Giftset (5 Discs) for CDN$ 83.97 minus the $5 off coupon = $78.97 + tax might not be eligible because it will not ship until the release date December 14, 2004.

What do you think ?

Only ONE person can use it. The first person to enter the code will get $5 off their order, and then it's gone. One time use. To whoever uses it, please post here so people don't waste time trying a dead coupon code. Just say 'I used Number 1.'

Here's the first of several Celestial Seasonings $5 off $30 coupons I will be posting here, slowly over time. (I have way more than I'll ever use, and they expire on 2004/12/31.)

Only ONE person can use it. The first person to enter the code will get $5 off their order, and then it's gone. One time use. To whoever uses it, please post here so people don't waste time trying a dead coupon code. Just say 'I used Number 1.'

1. CSNR-NJDBG3-3V7NNF

More codes will follow over the next several weeks.

Thanks for the code, but someone already used it and that person didn't even post that he/she had already used it.

This is what I have found:

Spend $75 & Receive a coupon for $10 off $75 on a future purchase 11/25/04

$10 off $50 (new customers) MAPDECEMBERV 12/31/04

$5 off Purchase (new customers) NEWSAVESCDN5 N/A

If you collect airmiles, log into www.airmiles.ca and collect points for your shop.

The coupon code I posted is gone, and some jerk took it without posting here like I specifically asked him NOT to do. >:(

To that individual, thanks for wasting everyone's time.

Thanks to everyone else who bumps this thread, contributes and gives a sh*t. I will definitely have some coupon codes specifically for the people who have bumped this thread regularly. I'll have time to list them next week, and I'll let you know.

Be careful doing this, they are watching for this and some RFDers have already been busted and had the account cancelled. If you do this regularly I heard they will ban you. For an extra $5 it's not worth it.

If you're finding yourself a few cents short of the magic $39 or $75, I've found some cheap items to add to your cart. Look in
Software > Categories > Utilities > Backup
Sort by lowest price. I'm not sure what that stuff is, but the prices are perfect: 21, 35, and 70 cents and up.

I can't see why Amazon.ca would want to sell boxed backup software for under a dollar.

I know that Kurtz's first post says coupons cannot be stacked, but I could swear I remember that Amazon's site allowed you to enter more than one promotional code. Am I remembering correctly ? And if I am, are these coupons treated separately ? Am I interpreting "Coupons cannot be stacked" correctly as "You can only use one coupon per order" ??

I have a book in mind that costs about $90 and obviously I'd like to apply as mnay coupons as I can...

yes, i think it's because amazon or chapters told rfd that they can't put some of these coupons on the site, and stickying it would be the equivalent of that. or something. please correct me if i'm wrong. :)

No, it's not, unfortunately. You'll have to cancel the order and reorder the item to do this. And if the item has been shipped and billed, obviously you can't cancel the order.Couldn't you just return the item if it's unopened? Maybe within 15 days or something. Sure you could, but you have to drive to the Amazon return depot, which is a pain in the *ss, depending on where you live. I think it's in Mississauga if I remember correctly, I've never been there. But time is money. With Chapters stuff you can return it to any store.

Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal : Super Saver / Express / Priority

Urban Centres except Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal : Super Saver / Express / Priority

As stated on their websites. If you need to buy stuff BEFORE Xmas absolutely, I'd suggest you buy it in store. I wouldn't be surprised if <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=17 target=_blank>Amazon</a> prioritized priority mail shipments until then since the last date for Free shipping expired... I have sent some to a few of the regular bumpers but I don't have time to PM everyone who deserves it, especially since I'm not sure if they need or want the coupons.

So from now on I'm doing this on a request basis. PM me if you need a $5 off coupon, and I'll try to get back to you ASAP with the codes. I'm not going to be around the PC much today so please be patient.

I would love to see all these coupons used, so please PM me if you want one or more. I'm not going to just post them here because last time I did that, lurkers just took the coupons without posting.

I have a bunch left so PM me. Happy shopping and Merry Christmas to all!

Just wondering if anyone has tried out the $10 off (no apparent minimum) coupon for <a href=../AffiliateAdmin/redirectpage.php?linkid=17 target=_blank>Amazon</a>,ca found on http://www.bylo.org/literacy.html?

the link is:
https://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/flex-sign-in/ref=nvr_pop_r/702-5301629-2464036?opt=a&page=x-locale/customers/new-visitor-rewards/register.html&response=new-visitor-reward

could be a good deal, i'm just not sure it's legit  ... seems a little funny that they want CC info upfront... anyway, my first attempt was unsuccessful (see email below), but i just thought i would consult here before trying again.

I used this link to register and got $10 coupon my email. Used successfully to order stuff. They ask CC info to verify you as a legitimiate customer. The coupon arrive by email 24 hours after you register.

These will only work for the first people to use them as they are one time use. $5 off your order. You cannot stack 2 in one order so don't try. I am now out of coupons. :)

If these don't work scroll up and see if the other posted ones haven't been used.

I will likely not be on RFD much until after Christmas and I won't be able to respond to coupon questions or inquiries. So if you PM me, don't think I'm ignoring you. ;)

is it possible to use a friend's irewards card online? I don't know if the irewards card is linked to the person by address (i.e. for shipping or billing) and i've yet to ask my friend about borrowing it, but if anyone knows whether this can be done...please let me know :) I'd like to buy about $50 worth of books and with the coupon and irewards savings, it seems pretty good!

Happy New year all...

I was just seeing what was valid for the new year coupon wise. I was thinking how about a "New User" section below the normal coupons. I think there should be a section for someone that has never used <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=17 target=_blank>amazon</a> or <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=32 target=_blank>chapters</a> to let them know about the extra deals available. I.e., in Canada the refer-a-friend thing is still going on at <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=17 target=_blank>amazon</a>. Ryan has said NO referal ids, requests, etc but put a link down there for people to e-mail/PM Ryan or some admin here so that they can refer them as a new customer and do the refer-a-friend like that.

For people that don't know (it might be in the thread somewhere but not on the first page of it), if you are an existing customer of <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=17 target=_blank>amazon</a>, you can refer a new customer (that hasn't used any <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=17 target=_blank>amazon</a> website (i.e. .ca/ .com / .uk,etc) and both parties get a $10 off coupon!

So, I think RFD does attract new customers that have never used online shopping before and this would be good for them. <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=17 target=_blank>Amazon</a> already does checks to make sure people can't abuse this with multiple "new" accounts... so it should be ok to at least state that the program exists somewhere in the first thread.

Officially you probably can't. But unofficially I'd be surprised if it didn't work. I doubt their system is sophisticated enough to track irewards memberships to online accounts.

Why not try it and see?

I have heard complaints of new users who signed up and never received this $10 coupon. And like I said, I would imagine 95% of people reading this thread are not new users. Posting coupons and deals that only a small minority can use just creates confusion. That having been said, I will mention it on the first page. If you can provide links and info that would be great.

As for referrals I doubt the mods will give you much help with that. But I will ask: How would you set up such a system? I don't know if the mods will allow referral requests in this thread. Give us your suggestions and others here can give input.

This is the link for information on the "refer-a-friend" program.

http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/12843171/ref=br_bx_1_c_2_0/702-2939214-4910462

My suggestion is everyone PMs me for a referall.. haha.. no.... I think a link to that information on your page would be usefull because it is kind of hidden on the <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=17 target=_blank>amazon</a> pages.. they stopped doing it in the USA but still do it in Canada.

I am not sure what the best system is to establish the "referall's..." .. I can PM a mod when I get a chance and see what they have to say..

Maybe someone else has comments... I was thinking of a list where after the first person referred someone they would be put to the bottom... the problem is it could possibly be time consuming for the person responsible.. but like you said most people here probably do have an account.

What I was thinking more was for people who have relatives, etc who aren't as computer literate. For example, 2 of my sisters didn't have an account as of 2 months ago.. Now one of them still doesn't have an account...etc...

Kurtz7834
Jan 4th, 2005, 06:06 PM
Thanks for the link YLSF. The first thing you need to ask the mods is whether they will allow referral requests in this thread. If they won't, then nothing more will happen.

Although I don't personally care about referral bonuses, I don't have a problem with referral requests, it means more bumps for this thread making it stay near the top.

But it's up to the mods and if they say no, the plan is over. If they are cool with it then we can work out an organized system.

If others have an opinion on this, post here.

The 5$ coupon MAPFASTFRESH works fine as of Jan 4th, just tried it. For the MAPSHAWNEWQ4, there seems to be a mistake on the first page, Kurtz, it's a 10$ coupon off a 50$ purchase for NEW CUSTOMERS only. That's probably why it did not work for most of you

So basically as of today, there is only the MAPFASTFRESH coupon that is functionnal. Furthermore, I want to add that the 5$ coupons are mostly without any minimum. I've ordered 20$ stuff and it worked fine, so no 30$ minimum as stated.

Happy buying!

Question:

I pre-ordered last Dec 28 4-dvds and got an email from them that the total price was C$48.48 using the Celestial Tea coupon (expires Dec 31, 2005). Now when I checked my order, the total price goes to C$54.20 which means the coupon has expired (shipping on Jan 14, 2005). I can't cancell or add another coupon since they said it's shipping soon. What should I do? I emailed <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=19 target=_blank>Amazon.ca</a> and I'm waiting for their response. If I'm going to return those dvd (after I received them), should be paying for the postage going back to them?

Never heard of a coupon dissapearing because of the expiry date, unless you cancelled some items, the coupon should stay there, the purchase date being the date where the expiration date is considered.

Now that being said, customer service by email can take until 48h, I would suggest you call them up and complain. Tell them you can forward the initial email in attachement to prove that you have a bill with the price you were expecting to pay, or else you wouldn't have ordered.

Good luck.

Now I want to make a purchase higher than 50$ and was planning on using the code MAPSHAWNEWQ4 - $10 OFF $50 (Expires January 15, new customers only).

Does that mean that I could stack the 2 giving me 20$ off? If not, I was thinking of placing my first order of 50$ using MAPSHAWNEWQ4. Would I then be able to use my 10$ introductory certificate on a purchase at a later date?

Hello,

If you received a introductory promotional certificate of 10$ that is actually under the form of a code, then yes you probably would use the 2 promotions. I'd suggest you use the MAPSHAWNEWQ4 first, or if that one does not work, MAPDECEMBERV seems to be still working for new customers.

Then you could use your promotional certificate on another purchase (they are not stackable for sure).

Hope it works out!

There's a way that makes the system not accept coupon codes.

I got the coupon to work, until I wanted to edit my order, and then the system would not let me enter any more coupons, no matter how I tried to change the address fields, phone numbers, etc.

Does anyone know the answer to being able to use <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=19 target=_blank>amazon.ca</a> coupons?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but can I make a new account for the $10 and also use the $10 off 50$ coupon?

No you can't stack them on one order. Last month I signed up for <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=19 target=_blank>amazon.ca</a> and received an introductory 10$ coupon by signing up with this link
https://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/flex-sign-in/ref=nvr_pop_r/702-5301629-2464036?opt=a&page=x-locale/customers/new-visitor-rewards/register.html&response=new-visitor-reward

Got it by e-mail 24hours after signing up.

For my 1st order I used the $10 off 50$ coupon and it went through!

a few weeks later I placed a second order using the $10 introductory coupon and that went through aswell!

SO... to answer your question you can use them both, but they would have to be on two seperate orders (NO STACKING)

Thanks for the bumps.

Could someone who hasn't already used it check if the following code still works? If it doesn't I will remove it.

<a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=17 target=_blank>Amazon</a> Coupons
1. Code: MAPFASTFRESH (Thanks to OS44)
Amount: $5 off $30
Expires: 2005/01/31 (Still seems to work as of 2005/02/19)

Yes.. there have been weird things hapening with the pages for the last few days! Especially when you reply to a post.. its like all the previous posts merge into 1... but then it goes back to normal ..... groovy

The refer-a-friend program is now dead according to some posts in the hot deals forum.

Maybe the first post in this thread can be changed to reflect it :)

In my last Amazon package, there was an ad for a Sprint promotion. If you sign up for their home phone service, you get a $40 certificate, if you sign up for their long distance, it's $20.

If the discount shows up at checkout after entering the coupon, it works and you get the discount. If it doesn't show up, it didn't work.

Sounds like it worked to me.

Bump. Give us coupons!

It looks like the Amazon.ca coupon expires May 31, as opposed to Mar. 31 :)

yeah but MAPVSCARDNEW is useless to 99% of people on here, right? I mean you can't use it if you already have an account, and I don't think they let people register the same credit card twice...
