Hi all,
Thinking of getting a 2008 CIVIC LX, Automatic transmission.
Went to the dealer yesterday... and with 1000$ Cash down, 2800$ Trade-in (2000 Accord SE)... they were offering 297$/month (Tax included) for 48 month term at 3.9%.

Is this a good deal? THANKS!

I don't know what other options you selected but if you price the basic LX with automatic on honda.ca, it's $288/month with a $3800 down payment.

If you go on Honda Canada's website you can figure out your lease payments for a 2009 and then compare what they offer you. With all taxes and delivery and everything in, you walk away for the amount you quote, then it sounds OK but, if they are asking for a little more (delivery, sales tax, etc) before you drive away, then I would be suspect.

Is it a Civic LX-SR? Did you add things like HFP body kit, spoiler, etc? That number look way too high if it's just a basic auto Civic LX. What's the total on the road price?

One thing for sure, you are getting lowballed on your trade in.

hey all..
thanks for the replies...
ok.. so here is what they gave me.. (BTW i'm in QUEBEC.. if that makes a difference)..

Civic LX 2008, Automatic
Lease term: 48 months
Downpayment: 1000$
Trade in: 2800$ (2000 Accord SE)

Monthly: 297.96$ (tax included)
MSRP + Frieght = 23,490$
Residual: 44%, $9,759.20

Amount due at delivery: 1000$ down + First month (297.96) + Other fees (112.88) + Tire tax (16.93) = 1,427.76$.

They will include for free a protection package: valued 350$

So what do you guys think?? Still a rip-off?

Thanks for the help though!

That tells me you're being ripped off. Most (all?) of those "protection packages" are pure highway robbery, so if they're willing to GIVE it to you, that must mean they're robbing you elsewhere.

You've got $3800 down on this lease. And it looks to me like they're selling you the car AT MSRP???

yeah.. i think they're selling it at MSRP...
how much do other people get the CIVIC LX for when leasing?

You are getting ripped off on both ends.

$2800 for a 2000 Accord SE? Are you kidding me? Unless your car is a complete rust bucket that is falling apart with 400k on it, this is a complete rip off.

Older Accords (98-99) with 200-250k run between $4-5k ....

yeah.. i think they're selling it at MSRP...

Get an APA/Car Cost quote and get an idea how much they are sticking it to you ....

leave.. this deal is ice cold!

ask for 7000 for your trade in at least... and 0.9% financing and some football tix.

you should haggle the hell out of the sales guy.. economy is bad and he/she is probably begging for a sale.
