Hi Everyone,
just wondering if someone can help me out. I just purchased a Iphone not through rogers and want to add a data plan. Just wondering if rogers lets you get the data plan on a non-contracted term for the $30 per month or do you need to sign for 3years?
Thanks Terry

I don't see why not. they're still getting you to pay them 30$ each month for 6gb of data usage

There is a cell phone subforum here...

Until September 30th, get the $30/6GB/month plan with a three-year term ($5/month for early cancellation to a $100 maximum)
or...
get $30/300MB/month with *no term* and no cancellation fee.
Really, if you're going to have a cell phone that uses data, for 3 years, get the 6GB plan. After September 30th, that $30 will only get you 1GB.

i believe if your phone is not locked to Rogers, you can't get a data plan through Rogers.
My friend has an iphone that's unlocked (from the states) and he cannot get a Rogers data plan.

As far as I know you can still get the data plan added on to your account but the 6gb is a promotion so you will have to renew for 3 years. I have an Iphone adn use it often and have only gone through about 100 - 150 mb's in the 3/4 - 1 month ive used it. So maybe you should wait and just add the 1gb (there was a newspaper article a little while ago showing that evne though people complained about rogers data plans for the iphone only 1 percent of customers were going over 1gb of usage).

I vouch this. I was told that if you do come across an Iphone, Rogers will NOT allow data plans added to your account because you need the Iphone from them.
