Looking for opinions on a Panasonic PT 56LCX70 TV I can get for $1200 new, including delivery and setup.
It's a rear projection 720p model using the LIFI technology which Panny claims can last the life of TV and backs this up with a 5 year warranty on the "bulb".
I'm considering it for the typical RPT rationale - cost for size. Although where I think I'm going to put it, I may be able to go as small as 46". I had also read good things about the PQ.
But, when I went into a store to see it live, they had it set up in a way that the furthest away I could get was about 8 feet and I could see pixelation, especially compared to a Sammy 1080p (also RPT) that was right beside it. They were feeding them with the same TSN HD signal (NASCAR conveniently enough). Component video into the Panny. I didn't take a look at the Samsung cable. The pixelation I saw is making me back away, but I'm wondering if pixelation is something that can be fixed through settings or some other setup problem. (I'm guessing not.)
Anyways, anyone want to help me save or spend?
