I'm looking to buy a leather handbag for every day use (for ladies). Estimated cost ~$200-600. Located in downtown Toronto preferably.

Looking for quality leather and workmanship. Want to avoid big designer names and obvious logos. I don't want anything crazy or too trendy, but would appreciate a handbag with unique features that would make it a signature piece.

I'm not into handbags usually, so I don't know what is out there. I'll check out Holts, of course, but what brands or stores would you recommend?

Since you don't want a designer, check out Roots. Their Chatelaine bag is high on my list of priorities these days:cheesygri as is a Kooba Natasha both should be in your price range.

I have a LV backpack daily, as it holds all I need and keeps my hands free with the kids.

I like a large bag, but most don't. I think once you see it, you know it. But that's me...I am a bag nut!!

Banana Republic. Their bags are really really nice to the touch and not so big on the logos.

Bags in that price range without logos that are well made include:
- Rebecca Minkoff
- Cole Haan
- Banana Republic
- Gerard Darel
- Marc by Marc Jacobs

Happy shopping... these are the ones in your price range that I think have nice quality for the price. Some younger designers with good potential in the last couple of years.

I love shopping in Winners for handbags. They have some unique European brands. You can get very decent leather bags in your price range.

Like 3weddings, I also love big bags. Too much junk to carry:o

Thanks for the responses.

I'm going to check out the Eaton Centre, and then maybe Dixie Outlet Mall or Vaughn Mills (which is better for deals, in general?). I'll make a new thread.

Thanks again.
