Where can I find nice frames, designer or not? A good deal would be a plus, but I'm mainly concerned with getting something stylish yet wearable. Lenscrafters and the regular optical stores in the mall don't have anything especially nice. Thanks.

IMP, Pacific Mall stores optical stores are overrated.

Yes, you will find great selections (not sure whether they are all genuine).

However, you won't get much of a deal on the frames. Factor in fighting for parking (it's terrible if you go on a weekend) and the experience turns out to be not so great.

Perhaps if you're Asian they will cut you a better deal?

Not a big fan of Pacific Mall... definitely question many of the products there...

Anyway, we just find out glasses at local little shops. My wife's favourites are Humphries and mine OGA. My frames were 300 but I got the lenses free as the store had an opening week contest. Because the other winner (5 total) did not claim there prize, my wife got free lenses as well.

The best thing is that we have built a relationship. The owner does takes time to fix our son's frames when they need adjusting (no matter how busy she is)....and more.

It is not always about the cheapest right then and there....

I like Laurier Optical.
They only sell designer frames though, but I did luck out in the clearance section a while ago.
Usually I find 1 pair I like and had found 3 frames.....so spent more than I wanted:lol:

But Laurier optical if you do not like what they have they have all the designer catalogs and you can get frames from there- they just never put the catalogs on display.

But that being said. I HATE laurier optical for contact lenses.
They were trying to sell me Acuvue because they get more money on those and even went as far as putting in an order for me after I clearly stated I can not use Acuvue- even if they were free.....they just would not stay in my eyes properly and were giving me blurred vision.
I use a different brand and am quite happy with that and buying them online.

specs & specs (south side of queen st, just west of john).

They have a vast selection of frames and are willing to negotiate on price. I've been going to them for 10+ years and have been incredibly happy with their service.

I have a small face and found most other places I looked only had large frames that didn't suit me. This wasn't the case at Specs & specs, where I had many mroe options from which to choose.
