My friend and I will start latin dance class in a couple of weeks.

What are we supposed to wear? (Running shoes?)

We were thinking just sweat pants/ shorts, tshirt, running shoes...no idea how others will dress either.

Someone I spoke to notioned that we might have to wear dress shoes, sure hope thats not the case!

funky, you need to wear something hawwwwttttttt.....

Latin Heat FTW !!!

Depends on the class I would think. Casual clothes should be ok but best is to check with the instructor.

at our latin and standard dance classes we just wear whatever. usually i'll wear jeans, casual top. my bf wears the same. we bought dance shoes however... we find it's easier to dance in them cuz they have a suede bottom that makes it easier to move across the floor.

i woudlnt recommend running shoes... they're too bulky and the soles are too "sticky". i'd say wear slightly dressier shoes...

Funky, PLEASE dont tell me you'll be taking the beginner latin dance class at UTSC. Because I would poop my pants right now. Awkwardness to follow.

Go the first day in whatever you got, and then ask the teacher.

You can wear whatever, but I would definitely recommend dance shoes. Running shoes will be too "grippy".

i do ballroom and latin dancing.

invest in ballroom dancing shoes, they have a suede bottom. only wear those shoes for dancing, otherwise you'll ruin the shoe.

do NOT wear sneakers.

wear anything comfortable. try not to wear baggy clothing so that you can see your movement in the mirror better.
