Which Plasma TV should I get?

LG 50" 720p HDTV Widescreen Plasma Television: 50PG20 for $988 at Visions

OR

Samsung PN42A410 42-in. plasma for 799$ at Costco.ca?

I am debating on which one is better quality? I can't seem to find much reviews on them when I googled them.

I don't have HD Cable and my movies are usually not HDTV.

Please let me know what you think?

My budjet is to get a Plasma TV or LCD for max $1000+tax.

I will be using the TV as a TV and as a LCD screen for my computer.

After 103 posts you don't know this belongs in Electronics, not Hot Deals?

Mods please move. Thanks.

In terms of quality, I find Samsung a lot better than LG.
And if you are using this as a monitor for your computer, I suggest you buy a LCD TV instead of a plasma, since burn-in will occur if you use it as a computer monitor.

No one spoke about computer usage.
Burn-in are a thing of the past, there is no good reason to switch to LCD unless you absolutely want an inferior picture quality.

Size >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> marginal image quality advantage (if any).

It's really a no brainer for me (the 50"), both listing on the 1st post are super deals and the 50" LG is more opportunistic.

There is nothing wrong with LG's image quality, it's no worse or better than a Samsung, image retention is pretty bad on my LG though.

Computer (HTPC) use is very common these days for anyone who wants to get the most out of their purchase, it's a fair question you ask yourself when you are buying a new panel.
