Looking for some advice or recommendations about an email problem at my friend's office.

The problem:
-whenever any email is read or deleted an additional copy will be received again. ie read/delete an email, 2 of the same will appear, delete those 2 and 3 will appear, delete those 3 and 4 will appear

-first I thought it might have been a timeout problem with large email files but it happens to every email small or large

-it only happens to one person and not the other staff (4 other people)

-

The setup/situation:
-They have a mail server

-the person that's affected is set up that emails are also sent to their Blackberry

-the emails are ONLY duplicating on the laptop (where the problem is) and not on the Blackberry

-emails are not being duplicated on the Bell server (their ISP)

-there are no duplicates on the mail server either and the problem cannot be re-created outside the office for some reason

Any help, insights, recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

1) What protocol is being used on the connection between the mail client, and the server? ie: POP, IMAP, etc.?

2) What kind of mail server is it? What kind of mail client?

3) What does a "Bell Server" have to do with this? I thought you said that they had their own email server?

4) Any virus scanners or other software that might be scanning the email, but causing malfunctions?

1) I believe it to be POP/SMTP

2) Don't know anything about the mail server. They are using MS Outlook

3) From what they told me they can also check their email via web like how you can check Rogers email via web when you're not at home

4) Nothing that I know of. Said this problem started about ~1month ago and they have no changed/touched anything (software/hardware wise).

either rebuild their Outlook profile on the PC or rebuild their windows profile on the PC.
