NAS storage box / print server

I'd like an "off the shelf" solution for a storage box and print server, extra points if it's also a wireless router....

I've been shopping around but haven't really found anything fantastic yet, I'd like cheap cheap as well..I don't mind buying my own harddrives if I need....any idea's?

So far my top choice is the D-Link DND-323

I'm not familiar with any NASes that are also wireless routers...who makes such as beastie?

Which seems somewhat unusual...I imagine 90% of these boxes are connected directly into something wireless...*meh*

I think I got it narrowed down to the dlink...or make my own box....it might cost more but be a bit more robust...

As he is hoping for a wireless router built in, I assume he means a combo wired/wireless unit with a few wired ports as well. At least I hope so. :)

Personally, I use my media machine as my NAS. It's always on, it uses little additional power to keep a few spun down drives going, and it gives me a lot more flexibility in terms of what I can accomplish with it.

Even gigabit Ethernet can barely keep up with the fastest modern drives; wireless is vastly slower. Of course if your laptop only has wireless networking, then that won't make any difference.
